Anyone knows what is going on with Lucid's billing to my credit card for charging? I'm still in the 3 year period for free EA charging. They asked for my credit card info (I've had the car for 1+ years), and I provided it. They then charge $50 to my card. In pending, fine, they are just verifying. I understand that. Why $50 when $1 will do I don't know. So it stayed in pending for a couple of weeks. Then, I saw a -$50. So I thought, OK, unusual, but they is how they eliminate the pending value. Now I have 2 charges for $75 in my pending? WTF?

We are discussing this extensively in the following thread:

I think my case is different. They've never charged me. Nothing has gone past pending. I'm just wondering why all these charges are going to pending. Is that how Lucid does it now? Adding to pending and decide later if they want to move to an actual charge. If so, most recently, why 2 charges of $75 ($150 total), in pending?

Yep, as reflected in the thread the pending charges are HOLDS on the account to cover any possible idle fee’s that are incurred. It os possible to incur idle fee’s now on the free charging system; so Lucid is holding the amount, in your case $75; and will release it after it knows no idle fee’s will occur. As others (I think @borski ) have pointed out; its most likely searching for the fee’s to occur and then the request times out in 5-7 days, which is when it will fall off or ‘credit back’.

This should be nothing to worry about. As long as you’re not incurring the fee permanently, as you seem to already say you are not.

Yep. Just talked to Lucid. He didn't understand why I was charged twice for the $75. But, as you say, it will be released. But he told me once released they will charge me again (in pending). It does eat into available credit limit.

He said it is a permanent thing. We can expect charges (pending only) to our credit card for as long as we have a Lucid for potential idle fees. I asked, really, for a high end car you have so many people stiffing you on idle fees? I asked why not just cut them off free charging until they pay the idle fee? I had forever unlimited charging when I had my Tesla. They never charged my card. But they would, I'm told, cut of free charging until the idle fee was taken care of. The Lucid rep said he thought that was a good idea and would pass it on.
