Poll: Lucid Air Touring/Pure Reservation Holders, if the new EV tax bill passes, would you reconsider your reservation?

Would losing out on the $7500 EV tax credit cause you to reconsider your Lucid Air Pure reservation?

Very true BUT if it means that Lucid is committed to getting it right, I understand.
Getting it right can only buy you so much goodwill for so long. Struggling and going backwards is not progress.

I got in before the price increase but was banking on the 7.5k and Cali 2.5k. So no, I won’t be ordering my pure if the bill passes. At 87k + tax, I have a lot of good options.
wait, you mean the CVRP? i thought air doesn't qualify because its MSRP is higher than the 45k limit

take a look at the lucid sub in Reddit. Someone said one of CA 2.5k rebates still apply. Think I checked a little while ago and is still good? Forgot which one.

hmmm i can't find it. do you remember if they actually got the 2.5k rebate? or they were just talking about it. cuz according to their website, it needs to be less than 45k. and if you check their vehicle eligibility list, lucid isn't listed.

there's also an income limit. but maybe you are talking about another rebate. i can't find one that's specifically $2.5k.

My decision is not based on the incentive. Of course it's nice, but it appears that the Taycan that matches what I am getting in the Touring is 130K.

I traded a Tycan turbo for the lucid Gt. The Tycan is a great car but much smaller than the lucid in terms of usable space and comfort. The lucid has a more comfortable ride while the Tycan handles better especially with the performance package. The lucid has more range and both charge quickly. The Tycan has limited over the air updates so will not get better over time/ although day one the Tycan software is currently more functional and it all works. If you want a sporty car and not a luxury car the Tycan is a great choice. If you want the best of all worlds nothing beats the lucid.

I have a reservation for a Pure. I made the reservation back in June for the $77,400 price before tax credit. I only paid $300 at the time of reservation. Even with the $7,500 tax credit the price of the Pure was a bit of a reach at $69,900 net. I live in Washington state with a sales tax over 10%. Without the $7,500 credit there is zero chance I will want the car. Just more money than I'm willing to pay for a car. Will likely get a Chevrolet Blazer EV in a couple years. Anyway... can someone help me out? Can I sell my Lucid Air Pure reservation to someone else? Or can I just give the reservation to someone else and ask them to reimburse me the $300? I'm pretty sure there is zero chance I can get a Lucid Air Pure for $69,900 assuming the legislation passes so I will want to give up my reservation. Thanks!

It is refundable. Just ask for your deposit back.

I thought the deposit was refundable until you confirmed your order which was some time after your initial reservation and about 4 months before production. Given pure production hasn’t started I would check with lucid. I don’t believe your reservation is transferable .

Thank you. Yes. My understanding is my reservation is refundable. I'm also wondering if it is transferable. If someone else can take advantage of the lower price I would be open to transferring it - but they'd have to find some way of giving me the $300 back.

It isn’t transferable.

I'm undecided what to do and for now am keeping my reservation on an Air Touring. I'm more concerned about delivery date. I reserved just before the price increase. I've driven most high end electric cars. The Audi GT didn't excite me even though I've been a very loyal Audi person. I own an Audi Etron Sportback, which is great, but the range is an issue. I recently took out a Mercedes EQS and it's a beautiful car but very different than the Lucid with the Lucid being more fun to drive. The EQS is a bit more luxurious but I prefer the Lucid however the EQS has the fact that a legacy company with extensive service facilities is the manufacturer. Lastly, Audi will be coming out in 2023 with an A6 Etron which is very different than the ICE A6. It looks beautiful and has the same benefit as the EQS. So, I'm waiting it out longer. The Lucid checks most of my boxes better than any other electric car but if the wait is too long then there are other great options coming down the pike.

I've decided to cancel my Pure reservation. I didn't see a way to request a refund on the website. I sent a message to Lucid but that seems like a clunky way to ask for a refund. Does anyone know if there is a way to request a refund over the internet?

As in the $300 dollars?

Just noticed this poll.

Been rereading the new policy and updates. If our order confirmation does qualify, I think the tax credit will go into 2022. I also just filed my 2021 tax recently. Looks like my 2021 losses are much higher than I thought so even if the Lucid still does qualify for 2022 EV credit, I personally won't benefit from it as my adjusted income for the year will be $0. Hard to swallow.

I still would prefer a Pure vs a Model Y. I really don't want an EV with less than 400mi. I likely won't be getting the Touring anymore though.

This poll is intended for Touring/Pure reservation holders only, not Dream Edition/Grand Touring owners/reservation holders.

The current poll reads 37 votes for "Yes, I would have to reconsider my reservation" and 41 votes for "No, I will still likely move forward with my reservation." However, several of these votes were made by confirmed DE/GT owners/reservation holders.

The adjusted poll results is:
  • 34 votes for "Yes, I would have to reconsider my reservation"
  • 28 votes for "No, I will still likely move forward with my reservation."
