Engine noise would be strange, since the car doesn’t have an engine.

What you may be hearing is the federally mandated “fake” sound the car needs to make at speeds under 15 mph or so. It’s so that blind or not-looking-in-your-direction pedestrians can sense your presence.

Sounds sort of space-ship like.

True there is no engine, this is EV. Should have known it. Do you hear that sound as well?

@windscar911 tracks his 911 and is an instructor. He would be well qualified to comment here. I’ve had a various sports cars over the years… This is actually my first sedan in a while… And I think it does handle very well. I actually appreciate more of a tendency to overseer. This car feels planted more along the lines of my SL55 as opposed to a real drive vehicle like my Aston or F-Type.

Wild. Sometime, can you do me a favor? Charge up to 100% and test it? I’m immensely curious.

I had the same experience with Jess over the last 2 days. I eventually called both the service center and the studio to confirm the vehicle is in Seattle and I’m in the delivery queue. They told me to wait for delivery schedule, a few hours later another person reached out to me and helped me schedule my delivery for Saturday morning delivery. They also asked for some of the information that I already provided to Jess. That was a big relief.

Both of them seems to be communicating with Jess, so I don’t think she’s completely MIA. It’s quite possible that Lucid is doing a lot of deliveries during this week and Jess was overwhelmed.

That said, the situation could’ve been handled better by sharing the work load among the employees (like cc’ing an SA who can help with the delivery coordination… etc) instead of leaving customers in the dark and go radio silence.

You were scheduled for Saturday morning delivery? Is this at the Service Center on Airport Way? Google shows that they are closed Saturday for NYE.

Any recommendations for PPF and tinting in the DMV area. I am close by Dulles airport.

How many sleepless nights did you indure prior delivery time? Lol.

The Lucid handles extremely well for what it is. It feels a little bit "computerized" on the limit but I don't mind it. I also never approach limit in this car, that's not what I bought it for.

But here's my take, I think it compares very favourably to the German boats (7series is the only one I've driven)...

Being electric you can very very finely pick which axle is doing more work. It's so balanced.

The ride is fantastic and I'm pretty confident that with the same tires(the key limitation) the Lucid would run circles around any ICE "boat".

My 911 however, is substantially lighter(over 2000lbs), has TONS more grip in the corners and would completely trash the Lucid in any handling/agility test.

But with only 350bhp, it feels like it's standing still compared to the Lucid on the straights.

So in its weight class, is there a car for sale today that out-handles Lucid?

I haven't driven a lot of 5000lbs vehicles. The ones I have driven are all SUVs and they don't even come close.

That being said it's likely the Taycan can out handle the Lucid. It'll be pretty close to the tesla as well I think.

Yes. Given the circumstances, I’m not surprised if they close the service center for actual services and just do deliveries on Saturday. The agent did mentioned they’re doing many many deliveries on Saturday.

Good to know, gives me a little hope. I know my car arrived 2 days ago, and DA is saying a member of the local team is likely to be in touch today.
 
Took delivery this morning of my White/Santa Cruz Touring. Best 1 hour drive home afterward so much so that I wish I lived even further away from Short Hills to enjoy the smooth handling that much longer. Wish there was less traffic on the Parkway but I got to really test out ACC and HW. Only problem now is that my PPF appointment is not until Tuesday so I feel like I have to be extra careful over the weekend.
 
Picked up my AT today from short hills. The car wasn’t showroom clean but good enough. I can’t log into my profile and waiting for customer care to call me back.

I drove about 100 miles just now and the side view cameras went offline once but came back after a reboot.

The car was delivered with V47

Overall, it’s an awesome car to drive.

@Janger did you order a Zenith Red with 20 inch wheels? There was one car next to mine in the parking garage awaiting delivery to its new home.

I ordered QG with 19”. I must have been the first one delivered today because I went there at 9:30 am.

Not sure when I will get to this again. I will only do this deep in the night when the road is complete empty.
