I can't wait to see pictures of the new Pures on the road!!
 
After receiving my Pure VIN number last night, I received the purchase agreement documents today. The request for payment also arrived today.

After waiting 1-1/2 years things suddenly are happening fast! I'm so excited to finally get the Pure!

Received my VIN a few nights ago and I finally was able to test drive a touring today. I'm heavily debating upgrading to the touring especially since I am now properly confused about the Pure and the original EV credit offered a few months back. Can someone shed any light or info on this? Is the Pure not eligible for the $7,500 tax credit anymore?

When did you confirm your order and convert your order to non-refundable?

Agreed. With the $7,500 Lucid is offering, the Touring is a great deal even better with Legacy pricing. Upgraded interior, more features, more horses and range. I'd upgrade.

I raised the issue last week with my tax firm because I signed the order contract before the August deadline. They say, “Technically the way we read the rules, you are likely eligible on the 2022 tax return, since the non-refundable deposit and order were before the 16th, but you can't technically claim the credit until you actually receive the vehicle. If that is in 2023, then their guidance dictates that you wait to file your return, or to amend the 2022 return to take the credit once the car is received or "placed in service" is their term.” On March 3 my dashboard read “in production” and it had my VIN. Hope for delivery in April. Check with your own tax preparers.
 
I have a Pure reservation that I had confirmed on Aug 10th for potential tax credit. It is pretty much clear now that I can claim the tax credit on my 2022 return once I receive my car.
I am now debating if I should upgrade to Touring. Will I qualify for the tax credit for Touring based on my original "contract" date of August 10th? Or will the new upgrade date become my contract date, and not be eligible for the credit? $7500 Lucid credit + $7500 tax credit makes the Touring an amazing deal, too tough to let it pass.

You should be able to upgrade with no problems. The contract confirm date remains the same -- August 10th. Good luck!

Lucid should look into extending the Lucid credit for Pures, to spur net new demand, against a high interest rate, defer big ticket items.. macro backdrop and Tesla cutting their prices.
 
I just got a call from the Scottsdale Studio that they now have a Touring available for test drives. I will take a test drive on Friday to compare the Touring with my GT.
 
Welp, after flip-flopping and agonising for far too long, I've gone and done it ... upgraded my Pure order to a Touring, that is, in Zenith / Tahoe. The $7,500 incentive made it difficult to resist, and the (likely, but let's not start ANOTHER discussion on the subject) tax credit sealed the deal vs waiting for a used GT.
