Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Please add me to the tracker:

Cosmos Silver, Mojave Interior, 19” Aero Range Wheels, Glass Canopy Roof and AWD Drivetrain

Order Confirmed: January 6, 2022

No VIN yet

Does anybody else have Tony as their DA? Heard from him back in May about the cosmos silver delays and we opted to wait instead of switching configuration. I've emailed and called to follow up multiple times recently for any updates but he appears to be ignoring me. Family is not impressed.
Hang in there the Silver log jam seems to have been broken.:)

9/16- Jut got a mail from DA that my car Vin got assigned and arrange loan/cash ASAP.
Unless your DA told you the car has completed production and is on its way, you might want to temper that ASAP request. Of course, most people assume the Fed is going to push interest rate up by 75 points again so maybe locking in your rate isn't a bad idea. Time from VIN to ready to ship has varied from a couple of days to couple of weeks and time from ready to ship to ready for delivery is similar. So your car delivery might be 4 days or 4 weeks off or more off. It's certainly time to shop for rates and insurance.

Some of the banks/credit unions will lock in the rates for a longer time frame if you let them know it is being manufactured upon your order.

Delivery day …. What fun. Sam at Riviera Beach was superb.Drove home to Naples with no surprises. Engaging Adaptive Cruise Control was a bit of a learning curve and though I now know th magic button, it does not want to engage consistently. There was some standing water on some newly paved sections of Alligator Alley and we had a bit of a scare with hydro planing … the car handled it beautifully and we were able to move to the passing (dry) lane with no issue. The car drives like a dream and the comfort of the seats is off the chart. We are the beneficiaries of all the software updates that all of you early delivery folks struggled with for so long. Delighted to be truly part of the “owners” group. Well worth the wait. (Sorry but the only photo we have includes my wife and me right before we headed west for home.Hope that is not breaking the rules of the forum.

Congrats!!!! Have Fun!

Forgot to add that Riviera Beach has about 100 cars in their lot for delivery and are receiving approximately a truck per day. Great. Progress and great news. Kudos to Lucid for the changes made to ramp up production. Truly impressive.

It's getting close to being an "owner"

Just a few comments about insurance and Loan
USAA for 6 months is $764. I have home, life, 3 other cars with them so that helped
Going with B of A with a $80K loan for 3.6% 72 months. Checked 2 another bank and credit union and it was close but more than 3.6%
I know there was a list somewhere on the forum for questions to ask during delivery so if anyone knows where that is, please let me know.
This is going to be fun!!

What trunk liner is that and how well does it fit?
It’s the inexpensive Motor Trend one that other owners on this forum have also purchased from Amazon. Fits pretty good. The right and left sides need some trimming, but that’s easily done with regular scissors. You have to lift the mat up to access the lower trunk compartment, but I rarely use that part of the trunk so it doesn’t really matter for now.

I keep hoping that someone like WeatherTech or even Lucid themselves will come up with custom fit trunk and frunk mats that will include flaps to easily access the lower compartments.

My contact had not seen the car that was pelted by hail that supposedly went through Goose Island on the way to the local body shop where remediation is being figured out
Had not heard about this. What color was the car in question?

Congrats! Re: ACC, please describe your process in more detail.

You hit the little speedometer button on the left, then hit the left trigger (on the wheel) to set the speed. Then you can move it up and down. The middle button on the left bottom is for distance from the car in front. The X cancels your current ACC but leaves it on ready to be engaged again (which you do with the wheel, as before).

Can’t set the speed below 20 or above 90, but it will spin back up to 20 if other cars slow down after they speed up.

If you come to a full stop, you’ll need to tap the accelerator or scroll up one on the steering wheel (left side) to re-engage ACC and it will pick back up; this is so it doesn’t go nuts at a stop sign or whatever when the car in front of you clears it.

Thanks, Borksi. Only way I found to engage ACC was to push in on the horizontal silver bar on the stalk above the 3 button array with the cruise control icon, the distance icon, and the “X” to disengage. I thought the lower, left hand “cruise control” icon would engage ACC. No such luck. Depressing the silver bar that was part of the +/- 1 or 5 MPH increments was, ultimately, the only reliable way to engage ACC.
I have not looked at the manual on the iPhone app and the little booklet in the glove box labeled “owner’s manual” is surprisingly lacking in detail and seems mostly many pages of warnings.
Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Overall the Air is AMAZING. Truly impressed. Thanks for your leadership with these pages.

That is exactly how to engage ACC. The little odometer activates "cruise control" like the old school on/off but you still have to set your speed like the olden ways.

I hate to ask, but I have to - does ACC also engage auto-steer with a second tug, push or pull, a la Tesla?
