New IOS Mobile App 2.0

Thanks. I thought that was the case. So does that mean that the fact that I cant wake the car in the new Lucid app and the native tidal app and Sirius don’t work are unrelated and just a coincidence?

It means either that you have no AT&T cell service where you are, or that you need to your TCU reset by service.

Does the car think you have service? Does it work if you connect to wifi? Does nav work?

(I’m not having any trouble waking up my car, but it’s sitting in my garage on my wifi 🤷‍♂️)

I will never understand software to the extent that some do on this forum. But I have no idea why both of our phones are just working on both cars. We have had no issues with app crashing, unlock or pairing. Everything is just status quo post app update.

It appears to be just a bug. Our car charged fine yesterday with inactive status. Go give it whirl on yours and let us know.
Charged at EA no problem!
Am planning a trip so the inactive status was weird to see
I mostly charge at home so didn’t want any trouble on a road trip where I always use EA
Which has a lot of stations in northeast

Glad it’s working for you! I’ve come here plenty of times to ask “anyone else seeing this?” over the years just to make sure my experience wasn’t unique to the car.

Enjoy your trip! It’s fun to take notes about your experience and post in the Road Trips section. Someone might be motivated to do the same who otherwise wouldn’t think to.

Thanks. The car is sitting on my driveway next to my house as it has been for the last 2 months. It has been connected to wifi and I live in an urban area with very good AT&T cell service.

I scheduled a service appointment for Monday and I’ll let you know what they say.

Sounds like the TCU needs a reset. It’s a quick 2-min fix.

My app crashed many times while driving around today. I have not experienced a crash yet on WiFi as I mentioned earlier in this thread but I have now faced it several times while on cellular. I will do more tests to see if this is just a coincidence or not. Has anyone managed to crash the app while connected to WiFi yet?

When I had TCU issue in the past, no data services would work. Lucid assistance will be offline, can’t see or connect to WiFi network and navigation will not work. And you can’t communicate to the car over the app. If you are experiencing similar symptoms, a TCU power cycle will fix it. Even though it is quick procedure, only service is supposed to perform it.

On 18.2 - App will not start. Crashes. Worked initially yesterday. Now totally out.
Man, that’s frustrating. I wish I could help you. Mine is working flawlessly on the same set up. There are some YouTube videos out there with suggestions when it starts happening on your phone. At one point, I had to reset my network settings to get a different app working. Are you using a VPN?

fwiw the first time this happened to me was on WiFi at our lab (gigabit with super low load) where I was running an L2 session for several hours (and also had the Lucid app open monitoring the session vs charger telemetry). Restart was the cure but did encounter later on cell while driving around as well.

Same. Likely for the majority of us. But for those who do run into bugs, it’s super frustrating. Both for them and the developers. This is why good bug reporting is so valuable. Even though it can seem like a thankless exercise. It really does help to fix these things.

Reboot your phone. It is a bug in the new app. Happened to me once but then hasn’t happened again. @Blue Lectroid seems to have it happen more often. A phone reboot does fix it though.

I hope they fix that bug soon.

It does seem *most* people don’t run into it at all, and some run into it consistently over the last few days, so it’s the most annoying kind of bug heh.

Unsolicited note to Lucid: this bug could've easily been caught in a small, short beta test. Both Apple and Google's app stores have a mechanism for rolling out beta software to a defined subset of users. You have many enthusiastic and technically-capable customers who would enjoy participating in field trials. Let them help.

They did that, of course. But every single app in the App Store will have bugs that need to be mitigated. If you look at updates for any app, almost all of them are to do exactly that.

To paraphrase a college many years ago, "It's not about shipping zero bugs. It's about shipping as few bugs you don't know about as possible."

This happened. I actually commend them greatly for it. They are trying. But not every bug was caught.
