My Air touring has a cracked windshield and been in the shop for 11 weeks with no end in sight

Why is anyone continuing to comment of this "11-week wait" post, in the absence of any readily available evidence to support it?
Consider for a moment, what would you do under similar reported circumstances? Just let them(?) take you new $150K+ car away without any documentation?

Please!!

Car is still a good piece of engineering, but major advantages of a "Legacy" carmaker is that you can take the car into their dealership and they fix it.

Not always. A lot has to do with the production volumes of the car that needs repair, and even legacy automakers struggle with repairs on low-volume models.

About a year after I got my 2010 Audi R8 V10 Coupe, someone switched lanes on me and pushed me into a concrete curb. The right front suspension and wheel were damaged. After over three months in the shop while the Audi dealership first waited for suspension components and then waited for a new wheel, the other driver's insurance finally struck a deal with the Audi dealer to take the unrepaired car in trade at Blue Book value for a 2011 R8 V10 Spyder on the lot.

I also had a 2004 Mercedes SL55 AMG. The second time its brake-by-wire system failed, it was in the shop for weeks waiting for parts. When they finally arrived and were installed, they promptly blew the alternator in the car. Mercedes had to wait another three weeks for an alternator to ship from Germany, as there was some difficulty in sourcing the correct alternator.

Lucid wants to become a volume auto manufacturer, but it's unreasonable to expect them to get there in the first year of being in a market still in the midst of almost unprecedented supply chain disruptions.

All that being said, I share the suspicions of some other forum members about the credibility of this 11-week wait for a windshield replacement.

Why would Lucid partner with Mercedes? This makes no sense at all. Every case where a car has needed to be fixed regardless of having a local Service Center it's been towed to the nearest one. If that's the line you're being fed then you should be escalating and as others have pointed out, they've had cracked windshields replaced pretty quickly.
Not necessarily the case. When I had my coolant leak, the car was towed to a European Car Service Center in north Atlanta that Lucid has a relationship with and not to the closest Lucid Service Center.

"European Car Service Center" = independent service provider, not a competitor facility. Let's be real, folks.

My car had a battery management system part and vehicle control unit replaced in 5 weeks. In both instances it took Lucid about a week to get the part delivered. There is no shortage on glass given how many cars are coming off the production line so someone is feeding you some BS or not doing their job properly if you've been waiting 11 weeks.
Yeah, the service techs in DFW probably have already fixed JohnBoy's car but are using it for joyriding around town. Hope he checked his odometer before he handed it over to them. Ha ha.

That is not the point, cars do not necessarily go to a "Lucid-owned" Service Center. I do not believe they have a relationship with a MB dealer, but it definitely could be a Service Center that services MB's. The place in Atlanta is actually well known as a body shop for Teslas, as well as many other competitors.

That being said, the two Lucid Techs in Atlanta are the ones doing the service out of that facility, as well as mobile service in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and, maybe Tennessee. I really hope Lucid is ramping service capability in line with deliveries/issues.

I am in Dallas and service is about the only thing I like about Lucid, lmao. This makes no sense to wait 11 weeks and you have been so patiently waiting. Who have you talked to in the Dallas area? I am a special case but I had no issues getting my Windshield replaced. Call the 800 number and ask for a supervisor.

I am not so sure you are in a position question the veracity of a Forum poster's remarks. You are not listed on the on the Grand Touring Tracker. Maybe you have a DE. Your profile indicates you are 101 years old. If you are that old I doubt you could see the keyboard to make a post much less have the dexterity to type a response. Nor would you have been issued a license to drive as you could never pass the driver's test. Seems to me that you are more likely trolling the forum than JohnBoy.

Yep, probably these guys

I was referring to what the poster stated:

"Lucid contracted with Mercedes to handle there body work in Texas."

The poster did not say a body shop that specializes in European vehicles.

WOW, so much misdirection!
You doth protest too much, me thinks.

It seems you are doing all the protesting that the forum should not be responding to JohnBoy's dilemma. All I am doing is questioning your truthfulness.
So why don't you answer the following questions to validate your truthfulness:

Do you own a Lucid Air? If so what model and color, and when delivered?
Are you 101 years old? If not, how old are you and why did you deceive the forum with false information?
Do you have a driver's license?
Are trolling this forum?

Your honesty would be appreciated by all.

My "age" was derived by the forum's algorithm. It was not stated by me. If you chose to research my posts, instead of launching a diatribe against me, you would find a history of legitimate, candid, informative, and non-accusatory posts.

Misdirection and deflection does not address the only question posed to JohnBoy; that is, show us something -- anything -- that supports his claim.

Your apologia on his behalf begs the question.

There is no age derived algorithm. Your age is imputed by the poster when you sign up for the forum if you chose to post your age.
I am not apologizing for JohnBoy, I don't know if he is being truthful or not. But you are sure being secretive about your status on the forum by not answering my questions.
Just trying to get to the truth about your status. And you have not answered one question I asked. Because you have chosen not to provide the forum something--anything-- that supports your truthfulness on the forum, then I can only conclude you are trolling this forum

Misdirection and diversion.

It’s so bad that I’m going to have to buy another car!!! Don’t buy one if youre thinking about it. They can’t service the car if anything goes wrong……..I’m sorry I trusted them
They FINALLY have all the parts in place and have begun the repair which they say will take 3 weeks and then it will need to go to Houston for calibration. I am glad they Houston service center will check it all out and load any OTA’s that have taken place. I had it 2 months before the wind shield issue and its now going on 4months in the shop. I’ll have to reacquaint myself with the vehicle.

i will add that I knew the risks of buying from a whole new car company. I bought a Tesla Roaster and year and a half before it was delivered with 100% down……serial #38. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
