Lucid UX 2.0 is worth the wait

Is it just me or you are experiencing the same.....My sun visor mirror doesn't stay open. It seems like they installed it backwards. When lifting the flap up you have to hold it open with one hand in comparison to my Tesla it opens to the bottom. The only cheap feature I found on this car for now.

Sounds like a SW problem... maybe it is fixed in 2.0 ? :)
 
So I am one of the latest batch of "beta testers" and I have just finished fully updating to 2.0.12 last night. Heading out for a drive later this morning to try out some of the new features. The "instant" startup commences as soon as you open the door which is very nice but for me the slower startup wasn't really that bothersome. Here's the thing that maybe hasn't been adequately mentioned. The "new" Lucid software team has completely rebuilt the entire platform with these updates and that will continue to pay dividends as future updates are released (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, etc.). I know there will be posters on this forum still clamoring for more of this or that, but for me I say "hats off" to the software team for all their efforts thus far and I am excited to see what future updates will bring.
How did you find out that 2.X is completely new build? Given all the features and improvements, the new software team must be very talented, disciplined and adapted a better development process.

You have to flip it up and then fold it down in half on itself. That's how it was designed.
 
Not just interstates, to be clear - highways. For example, the 101 in CA is not an interstate and it works fine on that. Same for the 85 and 17.
My local tollway highway was geofenced out. So maybe they should expand more highways.
 
How did you find out that 2.X is completely new build? Given all the features and improvements, the new software team must be very talented, disciplined and adapted a better development process.
10 months of hard work and constant hiring of new IT staff throughout the year from their head hunters.
 
Also in the parking camera views, they added projected distance shield lines, sort of like augmented reality of force field.

The blind spot cameras view also overlap with small warning lights having indicators floating on top. They have great video processing speed. The blind spot screens are slightly larger, everything is dynamic. Unlike the traditional dashboard, this dashboard will keep enhancing for DreamDrive.

So I drove it back and forth yesterday afternoon and evening and again today on the local Highway 85. Highway Assist actually works very well. It keeps the car centered and does handle curves. I actually was able to text a message while it had control as long as I kept one hand on the steering wheel. It did get upset with me a couple of times and I have to put both hands on the wheel. Also it did tell me to "Take Control Now" a couple of times - not sure why but as soon as I did it was back in control.
 
Glad you’re excited and want to share with the forum about how great 2.0 is but until the software is being sent to everybody, we need to preface new 2.0 threads with something that says the software is in beta and not available for distribution yet. Every thread that talks about 2.0 gets a response asking how they can get it.

Regarding lane centering - there’s a reason this version of it is called highway assist. Hopefully traffic jam assist or another future upgrade will address lane centering on streets although I doubt I would use it.

My magnets aren't strong enough to hold it up, the vanity mirror cover springs back down. I had a little luck pulling the vanity light batteries out, then folding the mirror cover up and folding the visor up so the cover would stay in the folded-open position against the glass. My thinking was that the material needed to be stretched/relaxed. That worked for a day or so, but I tried to open them again a few days later and it was right back to springing closed again.

It also works on some of the connection ramps too like 101 to 85.

If you fold it on itself and it doesn’t stick, tell service and they’ll replace it.

Just to ensure you are folding in the intended way - move the entire flap up against the visor then fold the top half of the flap down toward you so the flap is folded in half. If it fails to stay folded and stay up, then service needs to look at it like @borski stated.

A few of us have issues with the passenger vanity mirror not staying open, but the driver one working fine. Because of that it's fairly easy to see how it should work vs. not working .. I'd let CS know.
 
Just upgraded to 2.0.8 and everything after 2.0.5 has been astounding.

Navigation: Much smoother interface and always has the travel time and mileage showing on the navigation panel now, also the car remembers to disable turn by turn voice.
Homelink: It will now pull up when you approach your garage so all you have to do it tap it.
Dreamdrive: Lane Centering is now on the car, only downside is that this is geofenced to interstates while my Tesla will lane center on any road.
Parking Cameras: Much improved, 360 is a lot smoother now, object detection doesn't obstruct the screen at all anymore and makes parking close to things much easier.
Blind Spot: Instantly shows up without fail every time the turn signal is used.
Phone Key: Works well so far, every time I have approached the car, the car knows I am there and is ready for me.
UI Improvements: Lane departure disabled light has been moved and is much smaller, menu buttons have been placed to the left of the screen instead of the far right, menus are snappier and much more responsive.

Improvements I want to see: Navigation could be a smoother still and they need a better API to update locations (a new buffet opened in my town and my Tesla can see it but the Lucid does not see it), 360 camera could be a little quicker to open up, switching profiles is still a pain in the butt and takes too long to load.

All in all, this feels like a brand new car to me. With 1.0 I was very skeptical of how the software would be handled going forward, now I can't wait to see what the team does next.

Navigation turn by turn is now on the screen where the Air Logo sits - if you are using it to navigate to your destination. So you can have the media on the right panel when nav being used. Otherwise you can only have one feature operating at a time.

The changing profiles is the only real disappointment with the upgrade. Everything else is as good as instant now when you touch the screens to move from one option to the next, but changing profiles still hangs like before. Hopefully they get that fixed to be as good as the rest of the upgrade in 2.0. I also find that changing the profiles still doesnt result in defaulting to stored seat/wheel/side mirror settings even with the car set to make the adjustments automatically.
 
Just adding to the joy. When you auto part, the LUCID displays how far the doors will open. A very nice surprise and delight.
