Issues with my car

That's a drag. But that's easy to prevent going forward. You just need to get fluid rated to lower temps. I don't know if there's anything about Lucid's design that caused it or could prevent that from happening so it's probably not really an issue with your car.
Yeah, I'm still on the OEM wiper fluid from the factory.

20 degrees today,, but feels like 12; I'm waiting for the service center to open so I can book another mobile visit; my frunk won't open to refill washer fluid, and my LIDAR warning light ahs been on since I got it back says it may be blocked or whatever, throw another chip in the bucket...
My frunk wouldn't open for me Saturday. I asked my local garage and he said to push the open button, close the trunk, repeat as needed until the ice dislodges. It takes four of r five attempts but seems to work.

Same, my frunk is completely non-functional with the cold. Haven't been able to open it for a while. Mobile service is coming 1/6.

Do we know if Lucid did any significant testing/R&D in very cold weather? As they're based in Arizona I'd guess the vast majority of it was in hot weather.

This was three years ago.

That was four years ago.

I’m certain that it’s been ongoing.

I love my Air GT. I have never driven a car like this. It is incredible, fantastic, one of a kind... Yes, there are some issues. Having said that, I see them slowly but surely being addressed with the software updates. Sounds like the car mentioned in this post has an unusual amount of issues most of which are not what I have experienced.

Interesting and good to see. Deep cold certainly seems to be bringing out the issues in my car, but it may be a one-off.

There is another video from 7 years ago at the post I linked. They’ve been testing it in snow and winter conditions for a very long time; I doubt they stopped.

That doesn’t mean it’s perfect, by any means! But it’s definitely well tested.

So it had nothing to do with those front ports freezing closed?
nope he admitted that that might have occurred while it was on the flatbed being towed into the SC

Closing the loop on my original post from weeks ago…

  1. My new 2025 Lucid Air bricked, suspected wire-harness recall issue: Lucid insisted they had already performed the wire-harness recall service (in October) and regarded the issue as a mystery. They replaced the drive unit (this took a couple of weeks to source and do, during which time I enjoyed a 2022 fully equipped GT loaner). QA of the new unit revealed "bent connections", which they fixed, and I have not had any more issues (of this kind).
    • My own little conspiracy theory is that the connections were bent all along, led to the loss of power, only discovered after the new drive unit didn't resolve the faults. But who knows.
  2. In my post I also described Lucid as "beta", and I have enjoyed reading the ensuing discussion about that point. I used the term "beta" in the product-maturity sense, not the product-positioning-and-pricing sense. (Actually, I said "late beta". With a few more weeks of ownership under my belt, I might revise that to "mid beta". ;))
I think an AI summary of these forums would say, "people love driving the car; it has more software and operational problems than average". Is that too long for a t-shirt?

For better, or worse, all of these Forums (for every major car brand) are chock full issues, concerns, problems, service disasters, panel misalignments, software debacles, etc. it’s common knowledge that folks come to these to seek advice or complain when they are having an issue FAR MORE than when they are living their car.

I think perhaps AI would say “people love driving the car, many think it’s the best in the world and it seems to have many of the same issues every other highly-complex, computer controlled modern car has.”

It’s so great not having to post on the forum anymore since I can just respond with 💯 or 👍 to all your posts <3
