How does the leather stand up to our canine friends?

Hey all,

Just put a deposit down on a '25 AT, should be delivered on Wed. This one is spec'd out with the beautiful Santa Cruz leather interior. I'm looking to hear from any other Air owners with furry friends - how does the leather stand up to wear and tear from dogs?

I have had mulitple issues with the leather cracking and breaking, and it's not like I'm wearing jeans with rhinestones or whatever on them! I'm usually wearing Lululemon sweats or shorts, I don't carry keys to poke through the only thing I have on me are my wallet, phone and FOB (sometimes) and those are always in my jacket pocket
I've gone back and forth with the SC about this, and they are looking into it, but I've never had issues with leather seats until I got a Lucid so I would be skeptical about what a dogs nails would do i they were directly in contact with it...

Interesting, I appreciate the anecdote. I'll definitely be investing in a cover for the rear seats.

I know @HariK has two dogs. Perhaps he can post about his experience?

Our dog is only 20lbs and the leather has been fine, but probably not the dog you’re asking about.

i have 2 70lb dogs and they both fit on the floor behind the front seats, due to huge leg space of the 2nd seat. Because these dogs shed a lot, I take them in my old 2005 Sienna Minivan. A dog like grey hound or a Golden retriever will be fine.

Santa Cruz interior here too. Two dogs -- one 14 lbs, one 20 lbs. They haven't been in my car since September and that was briefly. Use a different car for the pups.

Nah. My dog loves my car. I see it as a tool.

Peter has two massive dogs too. I eagerly await a dog hammock from Lucid
