Gravity Reservations Tracker

Lucid states they would have hands free driving. They've stated at the end of this year, so if they can deliver that by the end, then as far as I'm concerned they have fulfilled their promise. I ordered with everything as I've seen the improvemts to DDPro and am happy with the features.
That makes perfect sense. If DDPro hands free hits before my configuration goes hard, I would probably get it. I would hopefully get to test it out in my Air first.

The Lucid representative called me today to confirm my reservation and to answer any questions. I asked whether DD Pro currently had any features that were not available with DD Premium. Admittedly not a fair question since the Gravity is not available yet. He said no, but hopefully by launch it would. He said the DD Pro Hardware was there for future proofing for when federal regulations allow full hands free driving. Both Cadillac and Tesla have hands free currently, not sure what federal regulation they would be waiting for.

He was also unaware that I was a current AGT owner. I was very surprised that he didn't have that info since I made my reservation through the same account that I bought my AGT with.

I've been toiling over DD Premium vs Pro as well. It's really hard to discern what is included with each version.

On Air, DD Pro adds Highway Assist with active lane centering and Adaptive Cruise Control; on Gravity, Hands-on Drive Assist is standard. And there is no mention of Highway Assist in any of the options. So is the Highway Assist from DDPro on Air now the Hands-on Drive Assist that is standrad on Gravity?

Good questions. We probably have to wait until software version 3.0 is released and features are announced.

As far as I understand it, every company needs to be approved separately for the hands free stuff, which makes complete sense to me.

They’re probably referring to true hands-free, aka actual Level 4 driving. We know they have mentioned they’ll be “hands free” aka Level 3 soon, as per the investor deck they shared at Technology and Manufacturing day. But keep in mind they need to be approved by the feds either way.

Nope, Lucid's hand free is not level 3. The driver must continuously monitor, pay attention and be ready to take over. Lucid's hands free just changes the driver monitoring form steering torque to driver camera. Level 3 means that he driver does not have to pay attention when certain conditions are met. We are not there yet.

You’re right; thanks for the correction. I misread the info above.

But the point remains; very few vehicles are at level 3 now (Mercedes, that one Honda they made 100 units of, anyone else?).

Waymo and Nuro are Level 4 on a small scale.
