Gravity Orders Discussion

I'm not going to post pictures, but I ordered just after 9am with the typical green stealth + Ojai, 20" wheels, 7 seats, most every option checked. $122k or so.

I'll want to stop by a design studio soon to see how the Ojai and green go together. I'd get white as I have had a white interior in my Tesla and like it. I hate black as it feels like I'm being absorbed by something dark and foreboding. Plus I'm spending more time in desert cities as more and more of my friends and family are moving to such areas as we approach retirement.

I was pleased to see the screen for the rear passengers, does the Air have something like that? Though there isn't a lot of info about it. The picture showed basic climate controls on it.

Done. Went with the Green/Platinum/Tahoe on the biggest wheels. I may regret the big wheels and shift down a notch at actual order time. I have regretted every ultra-low-profile wheel I've ever gotten, but I wanted to steer as clear as possible from a minivan aesthetic and this seemed one way to do it. I'm still not sure about the green - I would have preferred the silver but I saw that will be delayed delivery. I'm honestly a little surprised that a paint color would hold things up? Seems odd. I mean, I guess paint colors can need a bit of a shakeout, but why create a new color then, why not just go with one of the proven Air silvers? Anyways, I'm a sucker for a tan interior.

One issue I have with the Ojai interior (which I've ordered) is the grey trim piece on the center console. It doesn't seem to match very well.

On the other hand, that grey trim piece is also on the Tahoe interior where I feel it's just an eyesore. At least with the de-saturated tones of the Ojai it's just "not quite pretty".

I'd be interested in what you conclude. I held an Ojai swatch against the Aurora Green demo Gravity at the Miami Worldcenter and actually thought it clashed a bit. There was a kind of mud tone in the Ojai that didn't quite work with something in the green. However, as each was my favorite exterior and interior color, that's the combo we ordered on the hope that the studio lighting and tinted windows of the studio were throwing the tones off just a bit. All this put me on the fence about whether to order the Supernova Bronze instead, and I'm hoping I either get to see a bronze Gravity in the flesh or find out how more people feel about the Green/Ojai combo before final order configuration.

Climate, seat, and windows. I'd love for the Air to at least get an update for the sound system (volume control) etc. for the rear screen since I spend so much time back there listening to music.

The sales guy at the showroom told me he thought ojai was the best and went with either the bronze or the green well. That was his opinion anyways. I’m not great with color matching. But personally I found the Ojai a little too putty and muddy for my tastes. But to each their own! I’m sure many will hate my choice of Tahoe….

The configurator to place an order for Gravity is down right now. I assume due to heavy traffic. 🤑🤑

Tahoe is my favorite.

There has been a little instability on the site, so I'm wondering if they've been doing some work on it.

This morning the configurator said the 18-way power seats were "Included" on the Grand Touring. I looked about a half hour ago, and the site was showing the 12-way seats as "Included" but didn't show the 18-way seats as part of the Comfort & Convenience package. In short, they had disappeared. Then I checked a few minutes later, and the 18-way seats were again "Included" with the Grand Touring.

I believe the seats depend on the choice of interior scheme.

Okay, orders are open, and there are still no test drive reports from any auto journalists.

Was the press not given any release candidate cars to drive?

Was there an embargo that still hasn't lifted? If so, why not?

I've already ordered the Gravity, but there are still some things I would like independent opinions on before orders and option choices have to be confirmed, such as the effect different wheel sizes have on handling and ride quality.
I'm obviously very excited for this car and placed my order today, but I share some of your questions and a certain unshakeable spidey sense that Gravity still may not be 100% baked. There are just too many question mark data points:

- The pulling of the Road to Gravity test video - it did get reposted with a small edit but if that was it, that's a 10 minute intern edit and it could have been swapped out silently and nobody would have known the difference.
- 0-60 times never finally confirmed and now they're not on the site at all.
- As you point out, no EPA range estimates yet.
- As you point out, no reviews yet.
- Lunar Titanium color says "late availability." For a paint color?
- Many options are just being revealed today for the first time, and as others have noted on here, some of the options just don't look like they've been photographed and/or aren't terribly clearly defined.

This is sheer speculation, but it just seems like they announced this launch a little ahead of where the final development phases actually are, which would explain a lot of the above. And I can understand the desire to launch it ASAP for stock and other reasons. So I don't really fault them, but I am buckling up for what might be a bumpier ride than I would want it to be.

Lucid released a press release today about Gravity orders opening. It includes this line:

Lucid Gravity Grand Touring can be configured in six exterior colors, including the launch color Aurora Green Metallic

Does this mean that you have to order green to get the earliest delivery?

Looks like the website is struggling with an influx of people playing with the configurator. Can't proceed to submit an order in the last 40 minutes - tried a different browser, incognito mode, etc. 404 not found or just freezes. Damn!
Well there a promising sign for Lucid :)

Do you all know if we can make changes after order is submitted? I did it in a hurry and missed some options. Wife also wants to switch colors.

Hey all,
Trying to hop on the Gravity bandwagon (from OG 2019 Audi e-tron), hoping to lease this beauty - beast
Here's the order:

OMG….. coming from an e-Tron will be night and day. I jumped on the 2019 e-Tron bandwagon and the two things Audi convinced me on was I’ll never go back to ICE and I’ll never buy an Audi EV again!

You’ll be able to do it when you’re contacted to finalize the order.

I am really hoping for that, tho e-tron has a pretty smooth ride and interior materials (mine brown Valcona leather def looks close Tahoe leather in Gravity). But so many issues with e-tron, including the ongoing battery recall ,software glitches and the sad range

Yes - paint takes time to come from manufacturers, and they may still be dialing in various aspects of it. There were one or two paint colors that were late with the Air too.

Reminder: deposits are refundable until your order is in production.
