Hello!
I'm new to the forum, though I've been reading a while.
I ordered Gravity GT on March 23rd and then upgraded to DE on April 8th. I put the March date in the tracker--I hope that's correct.
I'm switching from a Model X 100D that I've had for 7 years. I've made multiple cross-country trips. My wife and I like taking long drives and enjoy the performance of EVs. We got her a '23 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance. I wasn't thinking about changing cars until a certain CEO started behaving badly.
I decided that if I was going to change, I would want something that could carry at least as much as my X and have good performance and handling. We've taken both the X and MME on twisty mountain roads and cross-country drives. We've had fun on
9burgring in California and rented a Mustang Mach-E from Turo to drive AZ 89 between Prescott and Wickenburg for a test drive before buying my wife's car.
I started looking around and test driving other EVs. I was totally unimpressed with Audi, Cadillac, Jeep. There were not a lot of cars that really felt like a step up from the X in terms of size, looks, appeal. Some, like the BMWs are just ugly. Some are pretentious brands priced for their name instead of the car's capabilities.
Then I stumbled on Lucid. We both were enchanted by the Lucid story--the innovation, the engineering excellence, and the beauty of the Gravity. We haven't been able to drive one yet, but we got to sit in one at the Electric Expo--Phoenix. After taking test drives of the Air, we rented an Air GT for a weekend and drove the twisties between Flagstaff and Wickenburg a couple of times (each of us experiencing the Air's handling and performance).
Having seen Kyle's Out of Spec reviews and others saying the Gravity drives at least as well as the Air, we were hooked.
Now I'm back in the waiting game like before I got my X--hoping it won't be as long.
