I am sorry you are dealing with this. I hope everyone is safe. Did the insurance company say whether the car is a total loss or if they’re going to repair it

I'm physically ok, but not so much mentally. Currently, he's in Hickory, NC at K&M Collision Center. They told it would be two week to tear it down and see what needs to be done. @tmichael, it was the front seat and I actually told the deer that if I wanted an extra seat and airflow, I would have ordered it!

I'm just glad this car is designed for safety of the occupants so everyone's ok (except the deer) and we can have a laugh about all this

About 40 years ago I had a similar hit of a deer at about 60mph at similar driver headlight area of my Toyota Corolla. Pulled over to make sure no intrusion into wheel well, continued my 100+ mile drive home. Insurance had it repaired in about 10 days. Yes, I understand that new cars, with their self destruct methodology to save occupants, but it greatly increases repair costs and probably totals out a lot more cars.

Funny story, when I pulled over to a gas station to check damage, some local teens asked what happened and I told them about hitting the deer. They immediately took off driving toward the site of the accident - This is Texas by the way. It was Thanksgiving, so it was deer season.

Yikes! Glad you're okay. Out of curiosity, what speed were you traveling? I'm assuming that amount of damage comes from a fairly high speed collision.
