Gravity Delivery Discussion

Frunk question.

When I tap the button on the panel to open the trunk, it attempts to open and then stop. I then tap the button again and it completely opens. Tapping the button a final time, closes it.

Is this by design? What does the first tap do? Or do I have some type of alignment issue?
I've started noticing the same -- sometimes opening the frunk hesitates. I'll add that to my list.

Yesterday I found myself wandering into my local Lucid Studio yet again, and yet again, I’m tamping down the very strong urge to place an order right now!!!
I get that feeling (although the closest studio to me is a three-hour drive to Seattle). There are several reasons I haven't placed an order yet, but the main ones are that I want a color that isn't yet available (Bronze) and I want the tech package with HUD and outlets. Plus I have a Model Y that's only just two years old, so I'm not in a big rush to replace it. But seeing the photos of new vehicles in this thread is making it harder to resist!

Every dysfunctional marriage takes some work haha. I’m in the same boat. My early build GT has required a stupid number of service visits but Lucid has done such a good job of keeping me in a working car and happy that I’ll remain loyal to them. I kind of like that I’ve learned so much and the Lucid/customer relationship is a lot more engaged and interactive than big automakers. Good people work for them and they are sincere about doing a good job. I’ve seen it over and over again.
And I’d like to add (and acknowledge) that you sharing your ownership experience and insights on your Air has been tremendously helpful to those us new to the brand 🙏🏼

Does anyone knows how the delivery happens? I reserved a gravity white but i'm in between moving from NY to FL and not sure if i will be here or there when the car delivers, i'd love to drive from NY to FL, but if it comes after my move i prefer it delivered in florida... do you know when is the last moment possible to pick the delivery place?
I’ve white GGT on order as well. My SA (Denver) said end of September or October as the earliest to expect “anything”. I’m hoping for it at least by Christmas. 🤨

Errr. Ok so I'm a Tesla charger now. I plugged it in and the car screen says additional step required. Continue to Lucid app or pay at charging station.

I open the app and it says select click select station, but every time I do that nothing happens.View attachment 31112
Were you able to charge? Do you know what version of Supercharger it was? If it was an old version, it may not be compatible.

Did you get it working? Do you have your credit card saved in your Lucid account on the Lucid website?

FWIW, my Gravity came equipped with Homelink already. Good thing is it spans across profiles!
My Gravity DE came with Home link, but the "auto activate" upon depart and arrival triggers extra (random) door opening and closings so I suggest waiting until team at Lucid figures out to prevent damage while entering or exiting garage.

Which specific Supercharger location? Are the posts labeled 1A, 1B, 2A,2B, etc? Or are they 1A,1B,1C,1D,2A,2B,2C,2D, etc?

They don’t have the supercharger certificate properly loaded and need to contact Lucid. You can’t just show up and manually activate the chargers via the Tesla App either.

For those of you happy new owners of the Gravity, does the Gravity still have the “Lucid motor whine” that the early Airs came with?

My other question - how good is the wind noise suppression?

Yesterday I found myself wandering into my local Lucid Studio yet again, and yet again, I’m tamping down the very strong urge to place an order right now!!!
1) No there is really no electric car whine - not sure why you called it a Lucid motor whine - all of my Tesla's had significant motor whine - the Gravity is quiet.

2) Wind noise is well Suppressed - it is a very quiet cockpit - you of course have the option of getting the double insulated glass which comes standard with the dream edition - I hear minimal road or wind noise when driving at relatively high speed.

3) GO for it - it is a great car. There are many people writing that the car has issues - I have seen very few. I was an early adopter with Tesla - my first Model X lost all battery coolant on my garage floor the day after delivery - they didn't screw in the bolt tight enough. It always had issues with all the doors. My cybertruck took 10 months before FSD was available - and honestly FSD is terrible - anyone who says it is amazing must like to drive into a ditch at night.
The Lucid Gravity looks AND feels like a premium car. It has software glitches - it has some rough spots - however the fit and finish when I compare to any Tesla is far superior. I recently purchased and took delivery last week of a quad motor R1S (26 model year). This is a nice car - but the Lucid Gravity is nicer - I smile every time I get in the car. Both are powerful - but the Lucid is far more refined. More comfortable - better sound system - better driving capabilities. It feels like an elevated version of a Mercedes S class (which I traded in for the Rivian). The software is improving and is actually very similar in many respects to Tesla and Rivian - there are some quirks - but it is a spectacular car. By the time you take delivery many of these issues will undoubtably be fixed - bugs will be squashed!!

For those who have departed their Airs, did you encounter any issues deleting the HomeLink and profiles?

Nope.

I will say the ride is a bit too, floaty? Or balloony? Intend to drive cars that are very firm and stiff.

Is this an EV thing? Extreme weight? Different tire construction philosophy?
Heavy vehicles with strong suspension have this effect. A heavy vehicle with low profile tires doing this points to great engineering and settings with the suspension to make a smoother ride

It’s more correct to say “fewer bugs” than “less bugs”. Of course it’s not good form to correct anyone’s English, and we’re being told over and over again, especially by the younger generation, that correct grammar no longer matters, and no one is ever incorrect.

…oooh…I think you touched a nerve in me I didn’t realise existed.
Yes. I was just amused because software generally always has bugs, so the hope is they become lesser in effect over time

I’ve owned a Model S, and still own a Model X. Neither emit the faint electric motor whine that is present in my Air GT. Actually I don’t find it all that intrusive.

What both Teslas did feature were a lot of wind noise (coming from the sashless front windows), and in the case of our Model X, a lot of road noise.

I will agree with you that FSD, even though much improved through several uodates, still doesn’t inspire confidence. I also absolutely agree, no Tesla I’ve ever owned approximates the premium feel and superior build quality that my Air GT offers up to me everyday, even after three years and 60,000 miles.

Call service. They can fix this remotely. Most likely need a certificate update. I ran into same issue after delivery. SA open ticket with software team. They fixed it, nothing to change or update on my end.

Thanks. I spoke with customer care today, the rep wasn't aware of this issue but opened a ticket for me.

The Gravity has been pretty trouble free all weekend. Color me impressed.

I was shocked when using DDPro and signalled for a lane change and the car did it itself. I fought the wheel thinking it was trying to do something stupid before I realized it was executing my request.
