Gravity Delivery Discussion

not me! i'm getting pretty frustrated. I'm curious - is anyone actually receiving their own order lately, or are we all fighting over so-called "orphans?" Are they in fact orphans at all, or is the factory just making what they make and then offering them out through SAs?
I was assigned an orphan on 07/12/25 that was already in production. My SA hasn’t heard anything on its status. Surprising they can’t figure out when the vehicle went into production or not.

I've been trying through several routes to find out why our Gravity Dream Edition which was ordered five weeks before the GDE we received on June 30 is still showing no movement toward being put in a batch or getting a VIN assigned, much less moved into production. (I suspect it's because they're now flat out of HUD units for any versions of the car, but no one will confirm that.)

What has become apparent is that the sales database is completely separate from the production scheduling database, and sales personnel are not given access to it. Also, there does not appear to be any protocol by which sales people can get information from outside their own organizational chimney. They have no more of a way to reach someone in Production than any of us do. Thus they have no way to find out what's going on with an order except to read whatever information has been loaded into their database from the production database.

Out of curiosity, for those who have confirmed orders but whose vehicles have not yet entered production (IE no VIN assigned), is the website still asking you to provide details and telling you a sales specialist will be assigned soon? My order was confirmed and I have an SA but my dashboard still shows this…

Mine shows the same Bunny... and I have the exact same config.

Also curious how that differs between DE and GT

It feels as if the June (end of Q) push has subsided and we will likely have to wait until end of September for another noticeable increase in deliveries versus the current trickle…as I’ve said before, there’s just no motivation to deliver cars but for end of Q and then it’s an all out rush - which is also when I was offered the best chances at orphans because they’d call people and ask for the money in like two days!

There IS a way for SAs to speak with the logistics team that handles deliveries, etc - so they can get out of their silo, but they have to try. And the folks on the other teams don’t appear to have to answer/respond. Same thing I experienced with Teal and Rivian.

The issue for me is I’ve never been the guy who got the call out of the blue saying “oh, your car is here…”. That does seem to happen to folks at times.

Similar here, but I'm not a previous Lucid Owner so the Owners Club is absent. Mine also has the pickup location.

I have yet to Upload insurance information. What do they want, a new quote or just your current information.

To give some sign of new progress, I got notified that my black/tahoe/20/21 GDE is "factory gated" today. TBD on delivery date.

For those who constantly monitor their dashboard for signs, in the last couple days leading up to factory completion I could see the SW updates getting loaded 👀:

...and for reference, mine was updated to "In Production" with a VIN assigned 5/31/25

Once you accepted the orphan vehicle, did your dashboard status change to" in production"?

Same here even though I accepted an orphan vehicle.( Different config compared to yours). Some folks here who accepted an orphan vehicle for their status changed to" in production " once they accepted it.

@Bunnylebowski yes my dashboard shows the same. Also FYI not sure if you noticed but you've put your real name up by using that screenshot, in case you care (I would).

@EdL-ATX I think you're saying your car has been listed as "in Production" for 2 months now? Ouch. Seems I will have a long wait ahead even if my order goes out of "Order Confirmed."

Correct. When it hit that point, I was told 4-6 weeks is "typical" but clearly it's not super-predictable at this stage. Ended up being almost exactly 8 weeks for mine.

Ugh, and then it's going to take at least a few more weeks to do whatever else it is they're doing to these cars, shipping, inspecting, prepping, etc.

They're probably trying to find the right balance of satisfying investor and customer demand for deliveries, and wanting to resolve a lot of problems before substantially expanding the customer base. I can easily imagine that they're going slow on production for most of this quarter as they try and resolve the problems that have been getting discussed.

Same here. Ordered in early February and got an SA right off the bat. She's been wonderful. But my dashboard looks just like yours. No movement and still 'going to assign an SA' phrase.
