Gravity Delivery Discussion

I'm not following, did you quote the wrong message lol?
I didn't claim or think they're trying to push people into the DE.
Wasn’t a jab at you. :) I was agreeing with you, and just jabbing at the rest of the thread :p

Nice. Do KSA/UAE get Dream Editions, or is that a US-only thing? (It doesn't show in the configurator if I switch regions, so I'm guessing not.)
Good question. I haven't heard/read anything about DE in KSA/UAE, but based on the configurator, they're still able to add the Technology Package (including HUD and dynamic lighting) to their orders for both the GGT and the Gravity Touring (btw we need to find an appropriate acronym for the Gravity Touring, GT won't work, maybe GrT and GrGT?).
Maybe the supply chain constraints were considered when planning for this, and they took into consideration the 450 DE units + reservations in KSA/UAE (it's a smaller market share there anyway)

At least for Air, KSA and EU each got their own limited run of DEs. I'd imagine the same here at some point.

I would have been happy to order a DE, but:
1. I cannot use 22/23” wheels because I have to have AS tires for where I live
2. We need the cargo space in back, so cannot spec the third row seat

If it was possible to delete the wheels and third row I would do the DE for sure, but these are hard requirements. Thus, as much as I would like to have the DE and the HUD, which from the videos I have seen looks amazing, I’ll have to do without it. Very disappointing.

Tariff-related issues seem like the likely culprit to me. They could easily have enough stock to do the DE runs but no more. However, the tariff situation is so volatile, it’s surprising they would pull the plug this early. I suspect more deletions are coming, unfortunately.
My issue even if I could afford the DE is the options. Less color choices. I'd love the red. But I hate the paint colors they limit you to. Then the interiors. I love black, I don't want any of the other colored interiors. So even if I could afford it, wouldn't chose it due to those limitations. For $150k I ought to have slews of choices.

There’s no red at all, even on any other trips of the GT.

did the test demo drive here in Northern California and they wouldnt say much about times. all they did say was that the green and black colored vehicles will have priority, and 7 seaters would be built before 5's which I thought was interesting. (I have a gray 5 seater on order so I guess I have two black marks against me ;)).
Same as I....metallic grey, 5 seats, otherwise loaded, or was.......

Gravity Grand Touring is being referred to as the GGT

That supports that this is a tariff rather than production issue, since the KSA/UAE final build is done in KSA. If so, that also means it's not necessarily a long wait in the US, as the tariff situation is changing daily and there is a lot of economic pressure to end this madness (without turning this into a political topic). I have friends who manufacture low-volume consumer electronics in China and they basically have had no sleep the past few weeks... it's hard to explain how disastrous this has all been to small American technology businesses. There's been a lot of rushing to get onto the last boat/plane out. It's wild, and sad.

Of course, I also can't imagine there are a huge number of preorders in region. I was in Abu Dhabi two months ago on vacation and the charging infrastructure is... not good. On the other hand, these countries are so small that there's honestly no need for anything more than home charging. We did have several electric Ubers, so I imagine there is some fast charging somewhere. We were matched with WeRide robotaxis (with safety drivers) that were fun -- they were on the GAC Aion LX Plus platform. The self-driving was a bit janky, but the spec on the vehicle is 1000km (623 mi) per charge, and they were very comfortable. If the US ever drops the 100% tariffs on Chinese vehicles, Tesla is _dead_. Everything budget being made by GAC, BYD, etc is far better.

BTW, if you find yourself in AD, I totally recommend a visit to the Emirates National Auto Museum. It's basically Sheikh Hamdan's personal collection and is one of the most eclectic but awesome car collections I've ever seen. It's in a pyramid in the middle of the desert and you'll have to hire a car to take you, but you'll have hours basically alone with the collection. The only thing more awesome is if you could actually sit in the vehicles. It's extremely weird but a lot of fun: https://visitabudhabi.ae/en/what-to...ral-attractions/emirates-national-auto-museum

I really don't think tariffs have anything to do with this situation. If it did, Lucid's original email would have probably just stated that "due to changing economic factors, the price of the tech package has gone up" rather than cancelling it in the near term. The reason it's probably still available in KSA is likely because those cars aren't going to be delivered nearly as soon as the USA ones (likely well into 2026) and will probably be in a much smaller volume...and I suspect Lucid has a good idea when the supply issue will be resolved (as Nick alluded to when he said it will be offered on the GGT in the future).

In one of the post there are nearly 60 gravities waiting in the lot and most seems to be non NACS which were to be to KSA. Seems they may get the cars this year only. Tariff situation is not small, it’s a 145% jump on the price. This may be both supply and tariff.

If it's a money thing from tariffs, they would just charge more and pass on the cost.

I truly had an incredible experience — WHAT A CAR! Just WOW. Gravity is absolutely going to be a benchmark. Huge kudos to the engineers and their hard work; they clearly put great attention into every detail to deliver such an exceptional experience.
The squircle steering wheel? Not an issue at all. I drive with my hands at 3 and 9, and it felt natural within a minute. People talk about German cars for handling — but after Gravity, they’ll be talking about American cars for handling, luxury, and tech.

Luxury isn’t just the car — it’s the whole experience. The staff were professional and welcoming, even late in the day. Claire was especially patient and professional, helping me understand the car thoroughly in just the 20 minutes we had.
As always, I loved talking cars with Anthony. He’s actually the one who first got me hooked on Lucid! We had a great chat about the new features and different aspects of the car — it’s always a pleasure.
I had a wonderful experience with Lucid before with the Air, and it continues with Gravity with improvements. Anthony, Claire, and the entire team were just awesome.
I’m sure that once you drive it and experience it for yourself, you’ll only want more.

Lucid truly is the best — car, customer experience, everything. Five stars.
