Gravity Delivery Discussion

Just heard from my SA, offering me another orphaned vehicle. It’s not really close to what we want so I passed. I want a five seater, not a seven. I want the smaller wheels, not these, I want the 110 V plugs, and I also want the stealth and black paint.

The 20/21 for the GGT say 450 while it’s 410 for the 20/21 on the GDE - how did you get 27 miles as the difference? Just want to make sure I am understanding the range in the configurator.
7 seat GT vs 5 seat GT. The 5 seat GT is 450 but the 7 seat GT is 437 miles of range. The 7 seat DE on the same wheels is 410 miles.

It’s really odd to me they’re even building configs without power outlets (yes, I know it’s a $600 option). Seems like it’s another variant to deal with and hard to believe there’s a supply issue there.

Yeah, that's my one regret really with the vehicle is that it doesn't have power. None of the orphaned vehicles had it. And we have a portable fridge that we use on road trips and our EV9 has one plug in the back we use for it. Not a big loss, but the power outlets would have been nice.

I got one (on order for mid Aug) with power outlets so they exist. I had to compromise a couple other places, though. (Didn't care for the "Comfort Package"...but had to take it.)

Sorry if I should be able to search for the order thread, but I find search challenging on the forum…I did attempt to search before posting here.

It feels like most of the Gravity deliveries have been in CA. Or more have been in CA. I know @jered is in MA and there are some folks in TX and FL, but is there a way to see this in the forum aside from looking at each member’s location? Trying to think about how Lucid may be leveraging geographic concentration for logistics…

Only way to easily figure it out is maybe if @Joe adds a delivered column to the trackers and then can work out the breakdown that way. Could be easier logistics but if you look at the tracker, CA by far has the most orders so it could just be you're seeing more CA deliveries because its got the most orders to fulfill

Mine was delivered in Phoenix yesterday Ava I was told there were about 7 or 8 delivered in AZ prior to mine.

I got the text this evening that I've been waiting for.

My SA texted me to let me know my Gravity is through production and headed to Tysons.
Should be ready for pickup in early August.

A couple of logistical request I made, that may benefit some:
  1. As mentioned in a previous post, I don't want to drive the car the approximately 100 miles from Tysons to my house, so I've asked if the car can be delivered to the Mechanicsville SC that is across town from me. They have to do the inspection at Tysons. My SA is going to talk with the delivery team to find out what's possible. Delivery to home is possible; with cost, as some already know. SA will follow up with me tomorrow.
  2. I would like the aero covers removed at Tysons and the center caps installed. If not, I'd like to be billed for the caps and have them placed in the car for me to install myself.
An FYI for those of you in states that require a front license plate, but are not having the license plate frame put on at the factory; they are required by law to provide the front license plate frame, so it will be placed in the car at time of delivery.

One final bit of info to give perspective to those accepting orphans recently:

My SA offered me this car when I texted her on July 10. My dashboard immediately went to "In Production" and the VIN showed in my dashboard.
When I asked how long to delivery, she said "I'll give you the standard 30-45 days response", but she also didn't know how long it had been in production.
She said today that the car came out of production yesterday. She usually gets a message when a car is through production. Not this time. She was checking the status of her customers' orders and saw today that mine was completed yesterday and ready for transport. Going with the completely unrealistic premise that production started the Monday (7/7) before I texted her and excluding weekends, July 7- 23 is thirteen weekdays. Obviously the car was not built in 13 days. So, if you are offered a car already in production, there's no telling how long it's been "in production".

I had a clue today that something was up.
A pickup location showed in my dashboard. Hadn't been there before.
I saw it today when I signed in and was looking through the Lucid store.
I resisted the urge to text my SA and then she texted me this evening.

Congrats. And by the way, I was told that "delivery to home" is included currently at no extra cost. I'm in North Carolina so not sure if it's state by state or what.
Thank you.

I'm thinking that may be based on how far a customer lives from a studio or service center.
Hopefully, I'll find out tomorrow.

I also picked up an orphan - a GDE orphan - you can tell when the car was produced (at least the month) by looking at the sticker on the hinge area of the drivers side door. My GDE says date of manufacture 6/25 - and it was delivered in mid July. Not that bad.... Good luck with the delivery.

Range - my GDE has the largest wheels - on full charge it says 378 miles, however the real range estimate in the car is only 315 miles.... (hot weather and heavy feet keep the range low...)

Let me add since not everyone looks at the trackers; I originally ordered a Gravity in late February. The July 10 contact was on search of an orphan.

Congrats!!

Is it still showing in production or changed to preparing for delivery?
