Getting Android Auto into the Lucid

Android 2.7.0 is out and I am happy to report that Android Auto is working seamlessly.

Did you end up trying this? Curious to see what you found as the best Starlink mini solution (if any). You mentioned rear side window too, but does that work all the time or only if the car is going a certain direction?

Tried it in the frunk to no avail. The only solution I can find is either the rear side window (which works whenever, but it's annoying to mount), or an outside mount. Alternatively, at some point Lucid will probably release a revision of the windshield that doesn't have metallic tint and that may work (I have no reason to believe this except that the Air originally had the same kind of metallic tint and then future revisions moved away from that)

So the full windshield seems to have the coating, all the way to the dash?? I assumed it was just the roof area. Damn, the backup plan was just to set it on the dash all the way forward when needed.

I don't like the idea of mounting it on the outside anywhere. Messes with aerodynamics/range, gotta run a cord through a window and have annoying air seepage, exposed to weather, could get stolen, etc.

I went ahead and picked up a Starlink Mini today anyway. Early Black Friday sale at Home Depot (and Best Buy) for $230. Our Macan EV will be our primary road trip car for the next 7 months (gets free EA for the first year) so I'm hoping it'll work OK thru the roof glass (or dash or liftgate window) in it. Still not sure when my Gravity will arrive (probably a few more months).

So what did you eventually figure out that worked? I used to place my Starlink V3 dish (the one with the kickstand) perfectly against the rear windshield dash of the Lucid Air and drive around with perfect connectivity and speeds. Now with the same dish, on the Gravity, tried sittting on the front dash againstt the front windshield and literally comes back with either no internet connection or extremely slow speeds at 20-30Mbps. Only glass that doesn't have the metallic coating appears to be the side windows. I got a suction cup mount off Amazon and mount my Mini in a 2nd row window.
