This just came out with a software update from Rivian. When leaving a geofenced area, it brings up a menu on the dash for the garage door opener/closer. You push one of the buttons on the steering wheel to activate the door. If you have multiple garage doors at that location, you can scroll through them with the up/down wheel.
This solves 2 problems:
1. The current ridiculous requirement to exit the backup camera to close the garage door.
2. Not having to look over to focus on a different screen, find the right button, hit it, then refocus on what's around you while at the same time transitioning from reverse to forward on a public street. This makes it a no-look situation for most people.
