Does Anyone Have Regrets? (non-owner asking)

Buddy just sold his 2023 MS plaid msrp 90K ……
2 years old 18K for miles for 76500 pvt party From this moment
Since they’ve lowered the MSRP, the plaid has actually held quite respectful value. Obviously buying used will curb the massive depreciation some vehicles experience.

I have my deposit down for a Pure but on the fence w/ the i4 (not sure which version yet - eDrive40 or M50). They're not really comparable but just an idea that's being toyed with.
I was debating between i4 and Touring. I’m 4000+ miles into my Touring and love it. My frunk didn’t fit quite right at first but was quickly fixed. My view is it is an amazing car and comfortable drive with adequate software…

3000 miles in

Regrets…? None.
ok - if I plumb the bottom of the barrel. Colour. I started with Grey (when I confirmed in November 2021). 2 days later I changed it to RED. Which proved a great move (since I’ve had my car for nearly two months). I would have liked to see all the real colours - interior and exterior in the flesh - and for delivery to be a little more predicatable. Would I have stayed with RED. Actually YES. I love it. Would I have stayed with Mojave? That I am less sure about. I love the DE interior and this would have been my choice (but not at $50k more)

what would I like better?

  • the SW has already been discussed. It is improving, and will continue to improve
  • An area that impacts me - the reliance on cellular signal. I live in Silicon Valley and I am plagued with shocking cell signal. Streaming of any kind is a no for me (Even if it was from My phone)
  • I would also like to see EA roll out charging stations with 6 or more stalls… rather than the normal 4. I have rarely had to wait … twice for a grand total of about 10mins in over 3000 miles (only L1 charger at home) but it feels like the charging capacity is going to be stressed sooner rather than later
Agree with all of this except the EA point - I’m already finding EA stations in the Bay Area crowded and having to frequently wait for a space to open. Not too long but still a wait…

Some members here just can't handle the truth. Yes, we do enjoy our car as there are no regret pills. Just simply sharing what's happening and depreciation is a factor for some folks. If you are truly that wealthy and don't give 2 cents about anything, good for you, but depreciation does exist.

Model S held up much better than the Lucid, it's the truth. U can easily get a 2022 GT with less than 20k miles for under 60k right now. MSRP over 135k plus tax.

Not questioning your feelings in any way - the Air is also the largest car I've ever owned. But isn't the Honda Accord the same length - the Air is just a few inches wider?
The Air is 0.2 inches longer, and exactly 3 inches wider. It is also 1.6 inches less tall.

It has 0.8 inches less ground clearance, a 5.1 inch longer wheelbase, and 33% more cargo space.

Basically, it’s almost exactly the same size, except for being 3 inches wider and having a longer wheelbase, which would only affect turning (and make the car “feel” bigger than it is, when turning, as a result). But physical space in the garage should be almost exactly the same.

Nobody has said depreciation doesn’t exist. I own a DE. I’m very familiar with the concept of depreciation. :)

But it’s the latter contention that is confusing - the Model S “held up much better.” In price? Sure, I agree.

As a *car*? Disagree.

Very often, when you or others think someone here “can’t handle the truth,” it’s because you’re talking past each other. Nobody disagrees depreciation sucks. :)

Coming from a BMW and still have a BMW IX compared to the LUCiD, they are very different vehicles. I enjoy both for different reasons. The Idrive admittedly is years ahead of Lucid UX. Having said that during my initial setup/personalization I felt certain things were quite quirky. Far forward 1.5 months and 2600 miles later, a lot of the quirks was one time setup and forget, the rest was a matter of getting use to it. To be honest I don’t even think about anymore.
my excitement getting a new car wears out pretty quickly.. about 2 weeks. With Lucid I am super excited to get in it still. I know it has only been 1.5 months but my level of excitement is on a different level. The closest EV I can compare it to is the I4 and it is no comparison…. Granted this is all relative. If you are holding out bc of software, go to a studio and play with one for yourself and you be the judge.

I feel the same way about driving my Polestar 2 Performance. Can hardly wait to get in it every day and it's been a little over a year. That being said, I was previously a Cadillac man (8 previous cars) and I find the P2 a little small. I believe that a Lucid Air will be the replacement for my P2 when my lease is up in 2 years...

The Model S held up really well for a long time since it was the flagship of EVs; in its class.
Now, prices are dropping due to ongoing price wars, and there’s not much that can be done to avoid that

I am pretty sure I am going to get a lot of heat from other members on this forum, but here is my question for the people who already have their Lucid vehicles and have spent some time living with them.
Do you have any regrets about buying the Lucid? What regrets do you have? If you love the vehicle in general, what do you wish was better?
What do you absolutely love about your vehicle?

I took delivery of AGT in Sept. 2022. Mine just hit 45k miles. I would absolutely make the same decision if I were to go back. The range, performance, durability and looks are awesome.

I got the base model sound system, because I've got hearing loss and I figured spending more on a good system was a waste. I was wrong. The base level system is pretty average.

Don't worry, I'm an audiophile and compared both, the SSPro is only a tad better, not worth the added money and that's coming from someone who spent $7K on my Bowers and Wilkens in my BMW. If the base is 3/10 the SSPro is a 4/10, so don't have any regrets.

I don't agree with this. IMO you got a dud or your sound source is bad/poor

I was disappointed as well with the audio pro system but not the car overall.

Might be a lot better now with new SSP update coming out.

I can say I will get another EV after my 18 month lease runs out. Will it be another Lucid at this point I can't say. Mine has been in the shop way too much in my nearly 6 months of ownership. Fingers crossed after I get my car back it will be AOK and I can figure things out in the next year.

Only in my 2025AGT a couple of weeks. On balance, NO. Driving is spectacular, Comfort is spectacular.

Infotainment and Lucid Assistant are at best mediocre and unworthy of this vehicle. Some of the UX is crap. All fixable IF the company is listening.
