Dash cam

Everyone should just take the 2 hours to run your own dashcam until it's enabled. It's super easy to do and will be worth it if anything happens.
I would love to do it if I can get a nice tutorial, first time luxury car owner, I'm terrified of touching this thing myself lol

I have someone that is not afraid to take very expensive cars apart and install radar detectors and dash cams so I let him do it!

@BACamster Is this what you are referring to?

@bobofat By any chance do you have a higher resolution version of that? For some reason I can't find it on either forum search or Google...

Thank you, @hydbob. After recovering from my initial astonishment and shock, I managed to crawl out completely unscathed - from the passenger side door.

Another thing I want to mention in regards to bumping Lucid’s dashcam up closer to the top of their priority list - my insurance company had initially wanted to take verbal statememt from me over the phone. Instead, when I sent in the dashcam videos I showed here, within 2 hours of my submission, the OTHER party was declared 100% AT FAULT.
The other party being Mother Nature?

Well, you could say that, maybe in a tangential way. The mobile office the lorry was transporting was so water-logged at its flooring and lower walls that the entire thing disintegrated completely when it fell on my car, and onto the road. I was surprised to see how much of these “prefabricated dwellings” are made largely of particle board.

I worried aloud with the police officer taking the report that the other party wouldn’t be held liable because after all, we had not experienced a collision as such. The PO assured me right away. To wit, “oh, no. They’re totally liable. That was an improperly secured load they were carrying, and it’s their fault that it damaged your property [car].

The mobile office was being transported to Tijuana, Mexico, a scant seven miles away.

What was left of the mobile office:

Insane. So glad you made it through that okay.

sorry it was a screen shot from somewhere from a while back, that I also cannot find anymore.

Based on very recent experience the introduction of some kind of onboard dashcam should become a higher priority.

Here I am a few days ago, playing Wicked Witch of The West, when a house literally fell on me. The whole incident was recorded clearly and graphically by the Tesla Dashcam system. Unfortunately for me, by the time I’d recovered from my initial shock, and stepped out of our Model X uninjured, someone had already made off with my ruby red high heels.

The videos are from the front, left side and rear cameras respectively. Following those are a few pictures of the event.
Omg, you have to be kidding me! So glad you are ok!

I bet when you woke up and thought about what could go wrong, the last thing you thought was “what if a house falls on me today”. Seriously though, that’s crazy. Is your car totaled?

Thank you. I was completely unhurt but very startled as you might imagine.

The car is driveable, and several days after the house falling on it, no mechanical problems have surfaced. There is some bent metal on the bonnet, left front fender and left A pillar. Several deep scratches at various spots along the left side. No word yet on whether the car will be repaired or totalled. Will probably find out early next week.

😉I don’t think this will buff out.

We had kind of a weird day on Friday. I told my wife that at least we didn’t have a house fall on us like someone in the forums. She said “ok, you are going to have to explain that one”. 😂

Thank you for this. I have been searching for this and didn’t find it either. I’ll go back to the manual again with a more detailed look to locate it as the image blurs to an unreadable state when I blow it up (possibly due to viewing on my iPad). Anyway, thanks a million for confirming it is in the manual. I need to locate the horn fuse.

This is a low resolution image and truncated as well…I can’t find it in my manual…

Today I installed the BlackVue DR590X-2CH camera. I have another BlackVue for my other car so I went with the same brand. To my surprise, the power cord (I did not hardwire it but it came with a hardwire kit) reaches all the way to the trunk to the 12v outlet.

I have the same DR590x-2CH. If I run the power cord along the A pillar and down a long the side of the car to the trunk, the power cord is about 6 inches short. How did you run the power cord and rear camera cable?
