Dahl Al-Ghamdi Review

Interesting that the screen texts were in English.

And I wonder if Saudis would find the Sanctuary Mode graphics of Muir Woods all that relaxing. (I once worked in Connecticut with a guy from Indiana. He often complained that Connecticut "has too many trees".)

Yeah, I wondered the same thing. Would Lucid localize the Sanctuary content, or keep it the same globally, projecting their roots as a California company? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I also spied something I hadn’t seen before (at roughly 3:18 elapsed time in the clip) where someone is sitting cross-legged in the flat rear boot space after the third row seats were stowed and covered. Is that object near the guy’s left hand (circled red in my first screenshot) the elusive gap cover that flattens the space between the stowed third and second row seats? Lucid’s interior cargo space animation (second and third screenshots) shows this space becoming “magically” flat after the seats are folded down. Perhaps that’s the accessory used to achieve it.

Yep. The seats all fold down to roughly the same level. But to get a truly flat space (i. e., without significant gaps) you have to put two panels in place: one over the second/third-row gap and one over the third row seats.

Here is the cargo area without the panels:

And here's the gap between the second and third row:

And here's the panel that has to be removed to fold the third row and then replaced to flatten the space:

Here's Kyle Conner removing the panel before dropping the third row seats into the cargo footwell:

My point of reference for ease of use is our Honda Odyssey minivan which provides a truly flat cargo space with no panels required. Its third row seats drop into the rear storage well, with the seatbacks themselves forming a flat surface level with the top of the rear bumper. So no panel there to remove and replace. However, to get the flat floor in the whole cargo length, the second row seats (which are very heavy) have to be removed completely from the van and stored somewhere -- a real chore and massive inconvenience.

On balance, I much prefer the Lucid solution. It's a lot easier to fool with a couple of lightweight panels to get a flat floor than to remove seats.

Yes. Understood the rear panel, and saw same a couple of months ago in Kyle's video, as well as a few clips from CES. I think the point I was making is that I'd "heard" a second panel was going to be the solution for the footwell gap between the third and second rows, but until the Dahl Al-Ghamdi review, I'd not seen that second panel. And, technically, I've still not really seen it -- just a corner in a couple of frames of video. Do you or anyone reading this, have images of that second panel? Interested in knowing whether there's some clever place to store it while the third row is occupied (without taking away from under floor storage where the third row seats stow).

I'm curious about where the second-row panel stores, too. Maybe it'll fit or snap in place under the rear cargo well panel behind the third row? Or, since I think it was described as an accessory, maybe it doesn't have a designated storage place in the car and can just go anywhere in the cargo areas it will fit, including the frunk?
