Can I verify that Surreal Sound Pro was installed

Unless you mean that I have the hi-fi plus tier plan which is on the top of that and I do. I was assuming you mean I want to download the music in hi-fi plus and not just hi-fi sorry this is very confusing and I’m about a year behind everybody.
Yes sorry, should have been more clear about the HiFi plus plan.

Now I'm curious, has Lucid stopped including the complimentary 3-month Tidal Hi-Fi Plus subscription with all new car purchases?

Thank you! Just spent about a half hour in the car experimenting and linking Alexa to Tidal. it is definitely working and sounds fantastic. I feel a little bit like a 16-year-old sitting in his first car lol. It’s quite a machine
I'm glad you got it figured put. Did you purchase your car new? Did it come with the free 3-month Tidal Hi-Fi Plus subscription?

I did! Took advantage of the lease deal. There was a 30 day trial with an additional 30 days for 4 bucks. And my credit card number. I’ll have to find a better deal because 19.99 a month is too much. I’m mostly a podcast listener.

I have the same question. We have the extra speakers but don't use Tidal. I understand that Apple IOS 18 has made changes to CarPlay so that Atmos songs will be delivered via CP as well but I can't see any setting or indication. Has anyone tried this?

It is up to Lucid to implement Atmos for CarPlay, currently I believe only Rivian does this and I’ve yet to see a test on a Rivian with the Dolby speaker identifier in Apple Music playing through the correct channels however there’s no reason to assume it does not, I just think it’s important to confirm it does indeed play discreet channels and is not instead “Spatial Audio” which is NOT Atmos but a virtualized simulation of it.

Understood. I am sure Lucid will get that implemented sooner rather than later. They will have to for the Gravity anyway.
Apple already shows when it plays an atmos track in the music app. Would be nice if they would show this also in CarPlay (or maybe they already do).
I will try that with a Tidal trial.

Yeah unfortunately Apple Music will just say Atmos if you have that turned on in streaming even though it’s not playing Atmos.

Well, that’s even worse. Showing Atmos when not playing it that way…

how does one know that its NOT playing atmos?

Sound engineers have a knack for it. Otherwise, compare with what you know it sounds like normally.

To add to Rogue's comment (and as an acoustics / audio pro) the Atmos vs. stereo difference can be subtle depending on how the mastering engineer chooses to use the spatial audio potential of Atmos. Keep in mind that Dolby developed Atmos for cinematic surround. You might hear a broader stereo image or feel more in the middle of a recording you've already in stereo many times. In the more extreme mixes different instruments or voices might come from different directions in the car.
I've been exploring the Tidal Atmos playlists using the Atmos App in the Lucid, not CarPlay, and the "Rock Classics: Dolby Atmos" is the playlist with the most noticeable differences from the more familiar stereo mixes. "Riders on The Storm" and "Psycho Killer" are notably different. You can try comparing the in-car Tidal app to Tidal on CarPlay to hear the difference since the CarPlay interface isn't sending spatial audio encoding to the Lucid, at least in my experience.

Check the individual height speaker channels. If they are playing different things, it’s a pretty good sign that they are encoded separately. If they are playing similar things to the other height channels, or similar things to the lower channels, it’s most likely not Atmos.

What a difference with Atmos! At least with Tidal’s Atmos-specific playlists and some of their test tracks. While some songs are more subtle, the overall experience is day and night.

I hope that Lucid will bring CarPlay Atmos to the Air asap as we are already paying for Apple Music and wouldn’t mind not having to pay for another subscription.
