Back up camera red line

When I back up the car, sometimes I notice the red line on the screen, but most of the time it's not there.
Any idea why?

I also have been having that happen and it when red line is there it won't give you distance measurement to object behind you. It is happening randomly along with a bunch of other software gremlins since 2.047. I notified customer care and sent a picture as they requested.

There are 2 different back up cameras.

When the car first turns on, a "quick to turn on" camera is used if you put the car into reverse before the ADAS computer fully turns on.

Once the ADAS computer turns on, a more fully featured back up camera becomes available (which shows distance measurement).
