We differ on the tint , as I decided to do 20% all around and 50 on the front windshield as it’s hot on the West Coast. I do agree the car doesn’t garner much attention camera/stares/ etc but it’s a great car overall.
Yeah, older post I never updated. After discussions and talks with @Bobby i got 20% all around and 50% in front and it looks stunning

I have 35 in the front and 15 everywhere else. It looks nice and tinted from the outside but it doesn't make a huge difference from the inside, which I like. It is truly excellent at cutting down on the glare and heat of the sun when it is coming in through the driver's window.

So my windows are all done front and back 20% . I was windshield tinted at 50. What do you recommend for the glass roof I think I want to tint as well
Thx

Chameleon has 70% and it looks great on her especially in the sun.

I did nothing. Mesh works very well even in the SoCal sunshine.

I'm trying to decide on my tint levels (will be going with Prime XR+). My PPF guys just finished up Xpel Stealth on my Cosmos Silver. I live in Sonoma County, so it's not terribly hot, but I do want privacy and don't want people looking inside.
We live in Sonoma county in SRosa. Maybe we start a group to do “rides” ?

Hi there! I'm actually in Petaluma and think there's at least one or two other owners in the forum from Petaluma. I've seen a few more around town recently as well!

There was a north bay meet up not too long ago. It was in Sausalito I believe. If you sign up for the Lucid Owners club (through Lucid) they should reach out to you anytime there's an event nearby. I missed the North Bay one last time, but would definitely try to make the next one!

Somewhat related to the tint thread -- I will say to be careful in this area on 101 for CHP. I recently got pulled over for 55% tint on the front. I had no other issues at the time. I was not speeding or tailgating. I just picked up my kids from gymnastics with my wife in the car and needed to travel one freeway exit to go home. I saw CHP in the cruiser behind me, he sped up next to me, then darted back behind me and turned on his lights and pulled me over.

He gave me a "fix it" ticket saying that I am not allowed to have anything on my windshield or front windows (technically not true as you can have 70% tint per the CVC). He did not have a tint meter. He did mark it as an infraction which triggers an automatic court date. He picked a court date a few days away from Xmas at 8AM -- what a guy.

Just to be clear: that 70% is VLT limit is *including* the factory tint, which is most of the way there already.

I tinted mine at 70% and you can barely tell a difference, but it’s an important distinction, if we’re being pedantic :p

I have the same. XPEL XR+. Love it. I did cave and buy the sun shades though since it’s very sunny and hot in Atlanta. Will remove for winter.

This was my first time opting for the ceramic tint. He gave me a discount for getting two cars tinted at once. $1100 for both.

Did you get the glass roof tinted, too? I have the metal roof and had it wrapped because I really like the two-tone look.

No tint, but the kids keep the peasant blockers up and after the past few weeks of summer we are regretting the glass roof and ordered the roof shade.

I have the front windshield tinted at 70% and that extends over my head. But even that didn't help enough to combat the strong sun. I did not tint the glass roof over the rear.
So I ordered the roof shades. That was a game changer. I'll run them all summer and take them off for Fall/Winter/Spring.

No regrets and no problem with day or night visibility for me …

Like the one I used, I suggest an installer that doesn't need to remove any interior panels.

Yes. A competent installer will be able to tint without removal of door panels though ours is a very difficult car to tint.
Big gaskets on the doors, the extremely curved rear window and windshield that extends over the driver's head contribute to the complexity.

Question for folks that got their front windshield tinted: was that applied on the interior or exterior of the glass?
I want to get the front done but the ceramic pro shop I go to in MD said it would be difficult due to the visors and would look bad as it would cut off half way. I was thinking to ask them to just do the whole front all the way up to the divider for the rear

Always applied to inside. Find a shop that can apply in one piece. Someone that can’t do it that way shouldn’t be working on your car. Film applied to the outside will get scratched up and need to replaced.

A competent tint shop will be able to do it. AP3 here in Atlanta tints all the way to the end over your head. The holes for visors are cut out.

I was having my windshield and two front doors on My Silverado with Spectra photosync at Speed Shield in Dallas and starting talking about tinting the Air. He stated when his first Air came in with the extended windshield he asked the customer if he could have the car for a week to figure it out. I found that really impressive. For my metal roof Air he said the rear parcel shelf and speakers have to be removed because the glass extends way past both those items. Yes you have to pay to have it done right using the best materials. I mentioned that my lease agreement stated tinting was considered excessive use and he said they charge $100 to remove all of the tint.

I have driven an Air for two and half years in south Florida sunshine and have really liked the open feeling of the glass canopy. The A/C has never failed to keep the car comfortable, although it sometimes had to work pretty hard.

However, we were going to be sitting under that glass roof for several days on end on a recent road trip, so I decided to get the mesh pop-in sunshades. They worked really well and did very little to change the interior vibe. In fact, we picked up our usual dinner guests the night before our departure, and they didn't even notice the shades until I asked them what they thought. But driving in 101º heat, we sometimes had to turn the A/C back because the cabin was getting a bit too frosty at our usual 70º setting.

I was planning to remove the shades after the trip, but I've decided to leave them in for the rest of the summer.

BTW, they're very easy to pop in and out.
