Yea, you just drop the speed to 50, but at least you can maintain HVAC for the 9+ HOURS you will be stuck in the car...Is that any different from trying to get 450 miles in an Air?
The EPA test is only 60 mph though, correct? And I can't determine if there's any regulations on HVAC use in EPA testing. So, I imagine manufacturers will not use HVAC to maximize the range outcome of the testat 50mph with no HVAC

You have to resort to hypermiling to get 450 in a GT as well. Given that most people average 3-3.5 miles/kwh at normal driving speeds and comfy hvac, that’s <400 even on a GT. I’m not saying you can’t get 450 in a GT but you have to drive uncomfortably slow and hvac set to something too high in the summer in order to get thereThat's what I'm trying to figure out. And forgot about it with a Touring/Pure, no way anyone will be able to do 450 in any conditions.

Out of Spec also did a 70mph range test on a GT and had AC on and still got 435. And he set climate to 68 degrees.
Edmunds claims they have done three tests through their long term drive with the car. 425 miles, 438 miles and 465 miles. They are also not hypermiling.

Yes technically it’s not hypermiling but still very hard to actually drive that slow for so long lol. I’d call it moderate-miling in that case

Anyway, I don’t think anyone drives like any of these tests. Look at the range threads here, the average is about 3 miles/kwh. I am critical of Lucid’s range because their motors are only efficient in such a narrow range. think real world driving makes these cars pretty weak in the efficiency regard.What? How are the GT ones anything like this? This one literally is no AC and over inflating on tires.
In fact other reviewers also noted that Porsche put all tires at Max PSI and not even the standard recommended range that people get their tires or should keep them at lol.
Like I get it that you are extremely critical of Lucid and the range, I agree. We should be. But 90% of the posts from you here are just rebuttals for the sake of rebuttals because you have a chip on your shoulder it seems.
To be fair I’d buy both a taycan and Lucid. They have different feels to them. I would love if my girlfriend switched to a taycan rather than her model 3 but I enjoy having a Tesla in the house too. So in my opinion, In the real world this will be a 300-350 mile car like I mentioned in my OP. Which is pretty good. I also already mentioned it’s not a competitor to the lucid. The lucid and Taycan are not purchased by the same kind of person. These kind of products only help to push the technology forward. 14 minute 5-80% charging and 350 miles of freeway range is nothing to scoff at. It’s a good release and that was my only point in posting.

I don’t doubt it’s doable, but I average 2.9 miles/kw and that’s just driving slowly to take my daughter to day care and then sitting in slow traffic to work and back. I didn’t realize you weren’t an owner yet. Will love to hear your experience with range and efficiency when you get it given you’ve owned a couple different EVs. Which etron did you have? SUV or GT?My GV60 got about 85% of the EPA range. My Audi got more during the summers but during 60 degree winters in SoCal it is only getting about 84%.
My Mach-E would get exactly on the nose for EPA.
But I think the issue is that the EPA doesnt have a consistent set of rules for manufacturers and some choose conservative or liberal figures and then the real world range gets exposed in many of these tests we see from outlets and users themselves. There just needs to be a massive overhaul on that.
Yeah. So Out of Spec just got somewhere in the ballpark of 4.5-5 mi/kWh in the pre-production facelift Taycan.
Pretty impressive! 340 miles of freeway range from a 90kwh battery and 16 minute charge back to 80%.

I’ve owned a Volt, Bolt, i3, model 3 SR+, model 3 Performance, and a Rivian. Lucid’s been by far the worst from its rated range. I do a feel a little duped, prior to buying I thought the lucid would at least do 300 in normal driving conditions. After vampire drain, I’m lucky to get 200-250/charge. Only after I started spending time here did a realize it’s actually normal.
