As June 30th is near anyone else on the fence to cancel or proceed?

Personally, I’m very disappointed with LUCID customer service. This company is heading to bankruptcy; their stocks keep plunging, all their cars had been recalled, cannot deliver any cars at all. But the worst is the communication. You can never get an straight answer from them. I had my VIN assigned, was told my car was ready to be shipped by end of month after final quality control and know I just found out that the car is not even built yet, cannot tell me where my car is or when it will be finished never the less when I will have a car. My lease was up and I extended a couple of months and need to return car tomorrow. My DA says a manager is going to call me to try to resolve the problem but no one gets back to me. It has become a big nightmare. I’m thinking of cancelling like most people in this forum. I think that for every new reservation they get, 5 cancellations come in. If they don’t put their sh*** together and start being straight forward with their clients; there is no way for this car manufacturer to succeed. Imaging paying a $150k for a car that will not be produced anymore and you will never be able to get replacement parts for it. God help you not to have an accident because then you are going to be real screw up. It’s very sad, the product is good; the way the company is been run is horrible.
I hear you and your sentiments about CS they are shared by me. I have had many of the same communication issues. However, I do not think they are headed towards bankruptcy and I don’t think people are cancelling the almost finished orders at high numbers. I believe that Lucid will get their sh** together at some point. Looking forward to getting my car As it will be fun to finally drive it. After rush rush to end the quarter today, they are slow walking me into delivery. They told me they can schedule me for Friday next week, so have to wait another 8 days before they can deliver it.

Lucky you and Congratulations. I was told the same and then found out car was still in General Assembly.

You ordered the Grey with a confirmation date of 29 Mar right and they already provided you with a VIN number? There are a lot of greys going back to Jan without VIN numbers?

I had to change my color to stellar white if wanted my car sooner to then find out that after doing the change for a color I didn’t like, the car wasn’t even built when I was told it was in Quality Control. Very frustrating!

“Most” people are not canceling, and the car is incredible once you get it. They are definitely not “headed to bankruptcy.” I understand being frustrated, and I would be too, but this is a wee bit dramatic.

I do hope you get your car soon.

I finally did confirm yesterday. After waiting eight months for the Seattle Show room to open I finally was able to schedule a test drive. I really enjoyed the car. As short as the test drive was and as limited as it was in scope (only city driving) I really wanted to close the deal. I confirmed, only after having a long serious discussion with myself that they had better get their issues behind them. This site is an eye opener. Thank you to all the site contributors. I could be overthinking this, but won’t people forfeit their reservation fee if the vehicle does not meet stated specifications/expectations. I really do not see how the price increases will help them. My understanding is that they are having problems now at the legacy price point. Bumping up to a higher price point seems counterproductive. Established manufacturers can probably pull it off but a start up needs to build a solid foundation and go from there. I hope that they are not getting ahead of themselves. Very excited about the GT order and living in the Lucid bubble that I am in.

I am curious about your point about demand at the price point. I wonder what reservation volumes they'll share at the next earnings call, but I feel like the current backlog does not seem as strong as it does for Rivian or others, especially given I assume that it's predominantly pures. Will we be in an overcapacity world if plants are actually built to anticipated scale but the demand isn't there?

It's July 1 here in Chicago at this hour, I was supposed to get my VIN in June, I reserved on January 3rd and confirmed on March 26th. So let's say I get a VIN in mid July with a possible delivery date that is 6 weeks out which at best provides me with a September delivery date, should my car be provided with a 2024 VIN?

In any event I'm surprised at the nonchlance I've had regarding the delivery of this vehicle, perhaps it's knowing that as time goes by the software issues and the Car Play I desire will be resolved and delivered in a higher state of software tune than current Lucid models. Admittedly I'm a glass full kind of guy.

Change it back to what you want with everything going on. I am not ordering something I don't want to just get it sooner. However, you can wrap it or liquid wrap it to change the color to anything you want! The only debate I have it do I pay extra for SSP and get a Pure sooner or wait and not pay for SSP???

Ummmm what about 2023?

I apologize, but this makes no sense. Who would spend $150k for a car in a color they don't like?!?!?!? Something doesn't add up here.

I really feel the price increase is not going to stay and was more of a ploy to get those on the fence to confirm their vehicles by June 30th. I was emailed every week reminding me how the price was going up and after the 30th we would have to pay the new price. I also received calls every week and last call was on the 29h. In the end I confirmed the order and will watch closely what happens over the next several months and I can walk away from the purchase with a $1000 loss if need be.

Inflation is up 8%, raw material shortage, labor shortage, factory under construction, and every manufacturer is raising prices. It's here to stay.

You can Venmo me $1k, It will go to better use ;)

The GT at $139k is already at a premium price, Sales will slow dramatically at $154k and they will at some point have to bring the prices back down to reality. Inflation or no inflation missing their growth projections will cost them more in their stock price then they can afford to lose.

All EV makers are increasing their prices. When you make an apples to apples comparison with competing makes and trims, the prices are realistic.

A Tesla Plaid is $135k, The GT at $154k and the GTP at $179k are way overpriced. When demand drops the price will drop as well. Recession is coming if its not already here and companies will over the next year have to start competing again. Right now there is not much competition because of availability but rates rising will slow sales and reduce demand. Lucid is not in a very good place and their stock has been hit hard already because of missing their projections. This is just my opinion but there is still risk in buying a Lucid vs buying an EV from a more established company.

as someone who was interested in a Tesla before reserving a Lucid, the Lucid is a level above Tesla in terms of interior quality so the increased price is justifiable IMO.

looking at stock prices right now is a red herring as most tech stocks are down starting of this year. AAPL is down 25%, GOOGL 26%, Amazon 37%, Tesla 44%, Shopify 76%.

The Plaid specced the same as a GT/GTP would be 157k. So it's right in line imo.

Lucid is down 54%+ and that is based on them delivering 12,000 - 14,000 cars this year. As of May I think they delivered 1117 so what are the odds they will actually deliver what they promised? The new prices are not going to help them but it did push a lot of people to confirm orders before the end of the 2nd Quarter to put those orders on the books as orders and not reservations..

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say to just cancel already! You obviously don't believe the car is correctly valued...you don't believe in the company, nor the economy. So.....
