- Lucid Air Grand Touring
Hey everyone,
We just took delivery of our Lucid Air Grand Touring less than a week ago. We originally test drove and ordered it at a showroom, and our sales advisor was excellent—super helpful and professional.
That said, we were really disappointed to discover that our car doesn’t include the ambient lighting feature. During the sales process, we were told the car we test drove was nearly identical to the one we ordered, with the only difference being that we opted for the Mojave PurLuxe leather alternative instead of extended leather.
What no one mentioned—and what isn’t clearly stated anywhere on the Lucid website or configurator—is that ambient lighting apparently only comes with the extended leather option. For a nearly fully loaded build that cost close to $125,000, that feels like a major omission. We had assumed (reasonably, I think) that a feature like ambient lighting would be standard or at least clearly disclosed if excluded.
This has been frustrating, especially as new Lucid customers leasing the vehicle for three years and potentially planning to purchase it afterward. It just feels like a transparency issue.
I’m planning to stop by the Lucid store soon to talk to someone in person, but before I do, I wanted to ask this community:
Has anyone else run into this?
Was there any mention of ambient lighting being tied to extended leather in your experience?
Do you think there’s any shot at a retrofit or solution?
Would really appreciate any insights or advice. Thanks in advance!
