Air Dream Deliveries?

Radar cruise control with excellent lane keeping (no ping ponging) able to manage corners on the highway, along with the ability the fully manage stop and go traffic is all I want.

Our Model X had advanced autopilot. We only used it on highway road-trips or in stop and go traffic around our Metro area. Otherwise we always drove without it. The lane changing never worked very well, so I had it set to only change with the blinker. Even then it was a bit aggressive.

I have no desire for a completely self driving car, nor do I wish to use an Uber like robotaxis for driving around town. When I watch FSD videos it just stresses me out. I don’t know why people would pay $10k to be a Guinea pig.
Same reason we paid $170k to be guinea pigs...:p

For some stupid reason people keep paying thousands for it based on false promises. He’s a con artist and everyone just lets him get away with it.

If he didn’t build Tesla into the most innovative company in the auto industry and didn’t create a private space company (SpaceX) from scratch that is doing things NASA could never do, I’d agree with you.

He basically created two amazing industries that’s creating many millions of jobs in the US, as well as the entire world.

Yes he has his faults. However he will go down in history as one of the most amazing entrepreneurs of all time !

At some point it should be misleading shareholders..

Shareholders are gaining fabulously. The oversell has been overtaken by sales, acquisitions, and leveraging assets to create new and bigger initiatives. Selling has always been the key, not service quality-- remember MCI Communications? Service was horrible, but they were signing up customers faster than they were losing them.
Musk is past the snake oil salesman stage since he's delivered enough to keep the music playing!

I get it, I was tempted to get a Tesla but the wait for a Tesla right now is almost as long a wait for Lucid Tourings (Tesla wait quoted was December 2022).

I don’t disagree. We probably wouldn’t have the likes of Lucid or Rivian even around if it wasn’t for Tesla. It’s clear the traditional automakers can’t design an efficient EV to save themselves so Tesla will have a place in history for what it delivered.

Someone just needs to give him some serious competition to knock that ego down a bit :p

115 total cars in the Lucid lot, Bear's Workshop reporting about 16 new cars and at least 20 shipped out.
Lucid was down to 84 cars this morning so maybe 31 cars shipped late Friday or Saturday.

Yeah so maybe they’re now up to 325 deliveries?? Given Paladin was 295.

I would guess they'll hit over 300 soon since the 31 that left since Friday have to go through Chicago first (which oftentimes leads to them sitting there for a bit while they "wait for parts"). We can say for certain at least 229 cars have left the factory in Arizona since November 10th (not including the first delivery event in October).

I bet their goal is to deliver all 520 before the earnings call.

Three months in since their first delivery and they just now reaching 300. I know they have three weeks left but that's a steep production increase. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they won't report any activity from January to February 21?

They will if it plays well to the narrative. Especially in this instance where they clearly missed the goal but have now achieved it (hopefully)

I've made 46 times my investment in Tesla (was more a few weeks ago). I wish more people would mislead me that badly.

I'm hoping Peter will also mislead me.

I hope all of you know that Musk is effing with Lucid and Rivian very badly right now. He sacrificed Tesla's share price at the recent earnings report just to beat down Lucid and Rivian's. Tesla had an amazing quarter and year. But Musk stayed almost completely negative the entire conference call. Kept saying that Tesla would be supply constrained all year - even tho the guidance was for deliveries to increase by 50%. Why'd he do that? Cause if Tesla can't get parts, does anyone REALLY think Lucid and Rivian can? Investors aren't stupid. A slight limit on Tesla is a killer for Lucid and Rivian. Both company's share prices went into free fall immediately afterward (along with Tesla's).

This especially hurts Lucid becuase Lucid didn't raise nearly as much capital as Rivian did initially. Rivian won't need to raise capital any time soon. Lucid will. And the lower stock price will cause more dilution.

Finally, I believe Musk is putting extreme pressure on suppliers to sell only to Tesla - and if they sell any parts to Lucid and/or Rivian, Tesla will stop doing business with them.

Notice that Musk has congratulated other car manufacturers when they announced an EV. Not a word of praise or congratulations to Lucid. Not even when the 520 miles of range was announced.

Yes, Musk has accomplished great things. He's set in motion some great changes in this world that should be admired for many years to come. I am a huge fan of his. And yes, he does want to save the world - "HE wants to save the world" - not anyone else. He wants all the credit. He truly is an egomaniac.

I own a Tesla. It's one of the best products of any kind that I have ever owned. And constantly gets better. I think the "snake oil salesman" talk is petty and mid-guided at best.

I'm rooting for Lucid big time (not withstanding that I own a ton of shares), but that in no way means I'm rooting against Tesla. Quite the opposite.

"I think the "snake oil salesman" talk is petty and mid-guided at best."

Do note the full sentence, highlighted here for context: "Musk is past the snake oil salesman stage since he's delivered enough to keep the music playing!"
