I’m pretty much ready for the next road trip.

- Tesla to J1772 charging adapter for Tesla destination chargers
- Oversized cupholder w gooseneck phone holder for Starbucks caffeine
- Nema 14-50 to Nema 10-30 converter for AirBnB dryer outlet

Anything else I’m missing? Suggestion?

This will pop the circuit breaker since the car will try to draw 40 amps from a 30 amp circuit. I would not take this along.
Not my house, AirBnB owner house, and who knows, his circuit breaker may have more than 30amp. I simply cannot live with 120v charging.

I agree that 120V charging will not do much, especially if it is hot out where it may not charge at all. It would be great if Lucid gave us a way to reduce the charging current for situations where a 50 amp circuit is not available. Putting a 10-30 plug rated at 30 amps on a circuit breaker greater than 30 amps will not meet code. If the circuit breaker does not trip, I would not want to be sleeping in that house.

Have you asked Lucid CS if they have released their 10-30 plug yet?

Do not use that adapter. I bought the same one for my vacation rental, and it will pop the circuit breaker as a best case. For me, it happened within 3 minutes. My bigger fear is that it doesn't trip the breaker and just sets the house on fire instead. There are a couple photos in the reviews on Amazon that show charred adapters. Unless you have a way to downshift the amps before it hits the adapter, this is not a good idea.

Interesting attitude.
In my house, some outlets have higher amperage circuit breaker to their room sockets. Sucks now I’ve learned it cannot downsize amperage. I still keep in my Air trunk in case there is exception need.

I didn’t know Lucid will make Nema 10-30 plug, now I will wait.

Just asked and waiting reply. Looks like what I thought I found a gem may just be a dud.

If one has n adjustable EVSE, such as a ChargePoint Flex, those outlets and adapters could be used. Just want to make sure the EVSE is not pulling any more than 24 amps.

I’m not recommending this particular item, just showing an example, but one could purchase a mobile EVSE if one just needs it for trips where there is only a 10-30 outlet.

Thank you for this link. I thought I found an inexpensive solution…. <sigh>

I’m thinking of driving to Florida from new York this December staying at a friends in Delray Beach. We May be stoping in Savanah for a day( stayed in Charleston 2 years ago which would have been better as a way point) from there a day trip to West Palm beach and maybe Miami. I bet I’ll see a couple of Lucids there! I might just buy a space saver spare that will fit in the frunk even though I’m running 19s. Who has done this ? The EA charging seems particularly well represented in the I 95 corridor with what appears to be a couple dozen fast chargers available on the way down. I have my Tesla tap and my Orvis cover for the dogos so I should be ready. Hopefully Lucid releases Dream drive in a couple of months ( haha let’s get serious) any other suggestions?

- Get all charger apps (I only recently learned ABRP)
- Download map of the states you will be passing thru into your GT memory.
- First Aid Kit (should be in any car)

Flat Tire repair kit as well

I just found this.

Good for road trip AirBnB.

That particular adapter has a 48 Amp limit. This is fine for Tesla V3 destination chargers, but V2 destination chargers can go supply to 80 Amps and fry that adapter.
It is unfortunate that Lucid's UI still doesn't support limiting the L2 charge rate (like every other EV).

Doesn't the adapter signal to the car that it can only support 48 amps?
