At 10 a.m. today (June 16) I finally took delivery on my Zenith Red (Tahoe interior, 21-inch wheels) Lucid Air Grand Touring. The car was moved from Casa Grande to Lucid's Scottsdale delivery and repair building on May 5. So it was 5 weeks from reaching the delivery shop to delivery to me. But driving it today made it worth the wait! Great car.

Congrats! I am envious and happy for you. However, I am happy for me and the rest of us that followed you since we all are now a step closer to getting ours!

Wow. That’s a long delay. I wonder why. Hope mine doesn’t take that long

Congratulations!
Interesting that the queue is non-linear; my Zenith Red was supposedly already at Scottsdale when I got my VIN May 4 and my DA currently has no idea when my car will be ready.
Hopefully this news is a good sign.

Reserved a Touring 8/25/21. Upgraded to GT 6/13/22. Confirmed GT 6/16/22
As an upgraded order, I’m curious if you’ll receive any preference or bump in the queue vs someone placing a brand new order on June 13.

Hope they give us upgraders a little bump!

I am under the impression that I fit in the queu as a 8/25/21 reservation. The day after I upgraded I was emailed the confirmation. I had not heard NOTHING as a Touring reserved

I res'd Touring 10/8/21, the upgraded to GT on 6/8 and confirmed order on 6/9. I was told that the order confirmation becomes the date, where I will be placed in line. So, I guess I will bring up the rear !

Updated my order to change interior to Santa Cruz because I really like the walnut trim and figure the carpet will be about the same to keep clean as the Tahoe.

My original order was September of 2020 for Touring. I upgraded in May and confirmed 5/10/22 No word yet so I don't think the "bump" exists.

Supposedly VIN and delivery goes by order confirmation date, not reservation date.

Confirmation date places you in order for when you will be invited to confirm. Earlier they were done in batches from earliest confirmations to most recent. If you upgraded before your confirmation group was invited, then you kept the confirmation date of the original order. if you upgraded after your ‘order date‘ group had been sent invites, you would be sent one at the next batch of invites. At this point for a GT, they have invited practically everyone so the invites to confirm are almost instant when ordering or upgrading. The same will be true when the touring orders begins processing.

Once you have the invite to confirm, the reservation date no longer matters, but rather it becomes confirmation date. If you placed an order 2 years ago, but did not confirm back in November when invited and only confirmed today, you will be at the back of the queue with everyone who confirmed before you in front, even if they only placed an order this year.

At least that is what is ‘supposed‘ to happen, per Lucid. There is also some batching - such as with with interior and exterior colors (hence the Grey delay and the silver slip).. if you change colors, interiors, wheels, etc. after confirming, you can lose your place in the ‘spreadsheet’ queue.

Then there is the production queue Post VIN. I believe VINs are assigned at the time of stamping. While they say this is late in production, it seems like it is ‘early’ on the line. Much is installed after VIN assignment, but supposed to be about a week. If something is wrong, then your car gets pulled out of the line and others go through. so later VINs can get ahead of earlier ones. My car is supposedly stuck in this build process but do not have specifics. If there are no issues, VIN assignment dates should be sequential to delivery dates..

Finally there is transport and PDI. If you are farther from Casa Grande, your delivery will presumably be later than someone closer. If issues are found in PDI, your car will be delayed and VINs assigned later might be delivered first. Supposedly they fast track those who had already paid for their cars, but at this point, if your car has been delayed for months, what is a few extra weeks.

That is my understanding of the priority queue.

As others have said, once you confirm, your reservation date is irrelevant. They now go by your confirmation date. They want to reward those who don’t wait to confirm their $140k investment.

I’m doing the same. I really like the Santa Cruz interior. I’ll just be vacuuming the mats more often. 😂

There’s a really great protectant you can get that expels dirt.
