Air Version 2.9.0

My GT has uploaded over 3GB of data in the last week but downloaded very little... Normally the upload is around 300MB - maybe checking or prepping for the update he said hopefully...

Also getting the 'log into your lucid' prompt in the app...

Interesting. Just checked mine now.

April 5-11 - 3.8GB
April 12- 18 - 8.3 GB
April 19-25 - 12.8 GB
April 26 to May 2 - 14.4 GB 👀

That has to be video captured during driving scenarios and being sent, right? I do use DDP a lot.

Interesting thought. In my case no DDP usage but also nowhere near your amount of upload activity.

Thanks, I'll try the log out/in in the car

Slower is better. it gives them time to catch glitches before the whole fleet goes down

I agree, but a release to only one person? If so, that person, and hopefully many others, should be Lucid employees and beta testers. I have to believe that it was a roll-out glitch that got JohnB 2.9.0 all by his lonesome, but that in Lucid's inimitable fashion, they choose to stay mum about what's going (or not going) on.

Remember, the number of Air owners on this forum is only fraction of the total Air sedans rolling around.

And the number of Air represented on Lucid Tracker site is an even smaller fraction of that.

Agreed that this rollout seems slow. But to categorize it as “only one person” receiving it doesn’t seem fair either.

How do you find that out?

My mesh router monitors upload and download data for each connected device.

Aren't we getting stuck in the weeds a bit here? I get what you're saying, so let's just call the forum's Air installed base a small but representative sample of the total Air installed base. Would you concede that there are 100 Air owners/lessors on the forum? If so, I would still think it odd that only 1% of that installed base subset report receiving the update over a week ago, and none since. if you would concede 1,000 Air owners, then it's 0.1%. My guess is that there are well over 1,000 Air owners/lessors here, but does the sample size really matter?

This forum represents less than 1-2% of owners. I wouldn’t rely on it for anything resembling trends unless unanimous, since it’s such tiny fraction of owners.

And most don’t own either of the cars; they’re interested in the company, the cars, or the drama (said without derision).

It matters if you’re trying to use it to figure out whether the update is stalled or not. The number of Air owners on Lucid tracker is even smaller than the number of Air owners on the forum.

Also, it should be noted Lucid hasn’t announced a 2.9.0. For all we know, the OP got their wrist slapped for breaching confidentiality or an NDA.

Or they found a bug.

Lots of possibilities.

I'm curious to know... Is there anyway to see how many verified owners are on the forum?

I was just trying to frame my reasoning for why something seems amiss to me, and I even speculated that it was likely a rollout glitch. An NDA violation by a beta tester is another possibility, but I highly doubt it. Whatever % of the total installed base it is, this forum has enough active owners/lessors to wonder what's going on when only one person reports receiving an update, and after more than a week, nodoby else has reported receiving it. I'm not losing sleep about it, as it's just another day when dealing with how Lucid manages things.

It will come when it comes…..I’m not thinking about the update at all.

Lucidtracker shows two vehicles having received the update as of this writing. So it’s at least two (assuming that OP has also reported their vehicle on Lucidtracker) or three (assuming they have not).

I hear you, I do. And what you’re saying makes sense, but for one thing: I am 100% certain other testers have previously violated confidentiality agreements on this forum and on Twitter.

I think that’s the difference in our assessment here. I am nearly certain this was a leak, not an announced release; your “high doubt” of that is the difference in our opinion here, I think.

Which is fine! I don’t know for sure.

I attended the Lucids and Lattes event today in Pleasanton. It was a huge turnout. Susanne and Debbie did an outstanding job organizing the event and key members of Lucid's management team were there. They had a ~45 minute question and answer session led by Emad and Nick and they were very forthcoming about future updates and features this year and next. I was very impressed by their candor and also the various service people who were in attendance. They had a Gravity fully loaded for remote service support and the engineering design of the various parts storage and tools was amazing. The San Jose service team was there and they even did a quick cosmetic adjustment on my car during the event (big thank you to Ron Reyes and his team).

I’m so sad I missed it!

Lefty, did they talk about V2H? Also did anyone bring up the service back log that is really frustrating current owners?

I have seen mention of the 2.9.0 update on the FaceBook group. But no one states they have downloaded it.

Has anyone asked service about it? I am not concerned about it so I would not call. Besides, my AT seems to ignore all updates. Still says I am up to date with 2.8.12 being my current version.
