Gravity Delivery Discussion

White gravity went into production on November 5th. My SA called pointing out that if the car was ready for delivery in November, the financing rate for well qualified buyers is 2.99 percent!
At that rate I will finance for 72 months. When you finance via Lucid, how long is quoted rate good for? Hope they offer the 2.99 percent for December. More probable that my car will be ready for delivery in December.
Quotes are usually good for up to 30 days. Your SA will recommend when to actually complete the financing application. Good rule of thumb is to complete the application once your car has left the factory and is heading for PDI at the closest SC.

I would be completely shocked if they don’t keep the 2.99% through year end. They have to move cars.

My understanding is that there are two high beam related features. One is High Beam Assist (the pics posted above) - this just detects headlights or other lights and turns it into a low beam and then turns back into High Beam when the lights pass. The feature that was originally mentioned is that even when it detects a car incoming, it can keep in high beam and only turn low beam for the portion of the headlights that are landing on that car. Afaict, the latter hasn't been enabled yet.
My Tesla does this but I can’t tell the difference

My SA told the Gravity I ordered has completed production and is awaiting assignment to a transport truck to SF Bay Area. Dashboard still says "In Production". How far am I from getting the car?

Just a theory. And only a potential issue when both car/phone are on the same network such as at home.
There really should be no issue with both on same network… that the app works better with cell service versus wifi is not rational… the app shouldn’t be directly talking to the network… there are intermediate layers. I have had chargers, cars and all the other devices in my home sharing a net for years. Signal strength, pinched antenna wires… those are def reasons for odd net behavior. If it makes no sense let the service folks figure it out…

No one knows. Probably at least two weeks. They likely need to fill a truck for your destination, PDI once it arrives, etc.

I think it doesn’t change to the “preparing for delivery” until it arrives at SC - but it’s been inconsistent.

2.99%? Wow, that's actually a pretty good rate. Quite a change from complaints in the very recent past around much worse the financing is for a Gravity versus an Air. Now I wonder if they're going to start charging attractive rates for leases as well.

I took the EZPass from my other car when picking up the Gravity. On my way home, I handheld the transponder against the windshield and it was not read. People behind honked me, so I just drove through. At the exit, I drove extremely slowly, but the gate still didn't read my transponder. Don't know if they are going to send me a ticket or not. Need to figure this out.
Well…at least here in CA our version, the FasTrak also has cameras that can usually read your plates… they bill your acct anyway if your plates are properly registered.

Same here... I don't get it

Thanks for the explanation. My logical mind gets it, but my emotional side thinks "if they are making 2 almost fully speced vehicles, one sans Comfort and the other one sans Dynamic packages, why can't they combine parts and manufacturer my order?" 🙂
And also the fact that we see same spec orders placed a few months ago being delivered now vs 11 month orders still pending.
Some of the parts required my not be apparent… wiring, bracketing etc… best of luck…

What PSI are you running on your 21”/22” tires?20/21 42?

I think the maps ARE generally accurate, the navigation is not (for me). It doesn’t seem to ever calculate or take into account traffic, for example. But I also don’t use Apple Maps or Google Maps. Only Waze for driving. I know Google owns Waze, but they’re different apps and appear to have different ways of navigating.

Every time I try to return to trusting the car’s nav, it takes me some whack a— route that adds appreciable time or gets me stuck near, but not at, my destination. Who knows…who is John Galt?
All the navi’s seem to send you to strange places… awkward routes etc… tesla, apple maps… Lucids seems about same.

In my 1-week limited experience using Lucid's maps, it seemed to handle traffic OK. The alternate route was acceptable, albeit not the best way AFAICT. Endpoint accuracy left a lot to be desired. We went to a new gelato shop after dinner and it told us we had reached our destination while still on the road. I had to manually navigate the rest of the way using my cell phone. Can't wait for Carplay.

With our Air, we usually use Lucid maps for charging stop routing on roadtrips and Apple maps or Waze for everything else.

Re: "Burlap." IMO the fabric material is beautiful and highly reminiscent of the kind of wool upholstery you'd see in mid-century modern Knoll furniture. In fact I'd bet money that's the inspiration the designers were pulling from when they specified it.

Admittedly I don't have to have my arm on it all day (I have Tahoe) but it doesn't feel particularly obnoxious to me. But as I know from my teen, who thinks cotton is itchy and would be happy to have her skin never touch anything besides soft poly fleece pajamas for the rest of her life, YMMV.

It’s funny you mention mid-century modern wool upholstery. I love the design and have always disliked the material! That’s actually saved me money over time!

Regardless, I haven’t seen folks complain much, so it must be fine. I hadn’t had leather for 13+ years, but now that I do, I don’t want to go back!

I agree with you. Between that and the alcantara and the leather, my ADHD desire for lovely textures to touch is more than satisfied.

My dashboard changed to "in production" today. My order timeline is:
  • I placed my original order on 3/24/25.
  • Modified my config (changed to Tahoe leather, upgrade to SS Pro) on 7/14/25.
  • On 9/4/25 received an email from my SA informing me that a batch number is assigned.
  • Inquired on 10/6/25, and was told my build was "anticipated" to go into production on 10/19/25.
  • Was told on 10/18/25 that the estimated production date changed to 10/28/25.
  • Dashboard changed to "in production" on 10/31/25.
My config is GT, white/stealth, 5 seats, 20/21 wheels, Tahoe leather, fully loaded on the options.

All in all, I'm pretty happy to have my vehicle being built in November. I don't really know what the Lucid factory is like during the end-of-quarter push, or even if the cadence changes for them at end of quarter. But I'm happy to have a build that isn't occurring during the end-of-quarter madness.
Just received an email from my SA:
... your Lucid Gravity has completed production and will be arriving at our Rocklin Studio soon ...
That's under 2 weeks of time in-production so far. My dashboard still says "In Production" (not surprisingly). Still, this is perhaps a sign that the production line has been speeding up as they work to hit their higher Q4 production goal.

I do continue to be nervous about actually buying a Gravity as my only vehicle, given the problems some are still reporting. But it seems that the point of a decision being required isn't far off.

I felt the same way before picking up my Gravity last week. But it's been fine. Just about all of the features work without any issues, but there are software gremlins for sure. Mostly, they have workarounds, such as power cycling the AC or the ambient lighting. Some things are weird, like easy entry mode moving the driver's seat back all the way down. Restoring the seat position fixes it. Do be prepared to reboot a lot, however. I expected a lot of early production glitches, but it is much better than I anticipated, and none of the issues have stopped me from truly enjoying this fantastic vehicle.
