Gravity Delivery Discussion

During my delivery today (GT/AG/Tahoe and everything but towing) I asked the question about corrupted profiles. One thing that may cause this is having multiple profiles with the same pin code. Seems that pin code is used to differentiate between profiles. Food for though.
So far zero issues with the car! Everything just works. We shall see if that remains the case tomorrow. But I truly love the car- so much better than my 3 year old MS.

Is anyone having issues with EZPass not reading properly? Maybe I’m placing it in the wrong spot.

Glad to hear all is good with car. Hopefully a good sign for us still waiting. On that subject, this is another example of the absolute mess that is the Lucid Pre-Order process. This guy (no offense to you tomclaussen, not your fault that you got lucky) places a fully loaded order for GGT that is filled in less than 3 months. Meanwhile there are numerous of us who have been waiting 6-11 months for our order and nothing but crickets.

Does anyone else have issues with phone call quality from the car? People on the other end keep complaining about how it sounds. I spoke with service, and they said the Air has the same problem, and they’re not sure if it can be resolved.
Yes. I think there was a note in 3.3.2 release saying it was improved. I don’t use it. Just use AirPods for calls.

That’s not the right spot. It goes to the right of the big camera/adas stuff. If you look super close in the right light, some folks can see the glass is kind of hashed there. If it’s not in the right spot, won’t work at all.

Oh, too bad. That would have been the perfect spot, on the right side, as it’s distracting the passengers’ view

Just took my Gravity for the first test run of 250 miles started out at 80% got home and had 22% left highway driving cruising at 78 mph dream drive pro worked flawless lane exchanges were a breeze what a vehicle
DDPro drives very efficiently. 78mph not efficient but fun.

TBH, the whole camera/ADAS box is distracting to me. It’s really big (to me). Especially compared to our X. But I’ve gotten used to it.

I took the EZPass from my other car when picking up the Gravity. On my way home, I handheld the transponder against the windshield and it was not read. People behind honked me, so I just drove through. At the exit, I drove extremely slowly, but the gate still didn't read my transponder. Don't know if they are going to send me a ticket or not. Need to figure this out.

With no charging stop along the way? If so, that could be about the best efficiency I've seen reported here. 250 miles consuming 58% of charge works out to 431 miles potential total range.

Same here... I don't get it

As a software developer ... there is almost zero chance that this is true. People come up with a lot of voodoo to explain glitches, and this sounds like a theory created by someone who thought they recognized a pattern, rather than something confirmed by an actual engineer. Not to get too technical, but PINs are encrypted when they are stored, and the encryption algorithm uses a random seed. So even if two profiles used the same PIN, the encrypted forms of those PINs (the versions that actually get stored) would not be the same as each other anyway. In fact, in any modern authentication system, it'd be borderline impossible to use the PIN as an identifier even if a rogue coder was crazy or incompetent enough to try.

Imagine a factory worker, out of sheer incompetence, accidentally attaching four steering wheels to the axles instead of tires, and putting a tire where your steering wheel should go. That's the level of nonsense we are talking about.

Thanks. To be honest, the hands-free call quality is just one of many issues I’ve experienced with the Gravity. It’s really disappointing, things like this simply shouldn’t happen in a six-figure luxury car.

I completely understand that every new model has growing pains, but the number of problems with the Gravity feels excessive. Even Tesla, in its early days, didn’t seem to have this many issues surface so quickly after launch.

I genuinely want Lucid to succeed, but I hope the team recognizes how frustrating these repeated problems are for owners who believed in the brand and invested in this vehicle.
Did you actually have a Tesla in the early days? I got my first Model S at the start of non-founder production, and I had so many issues I knew the names of every Tesla mobile service member from our far-too-frequent meetings. I even had one major issue Tesla did not want to fix and I had to push really hard to get it done. That said, I am not looking forward to repeating that experience. I pick up my Gravity next week, so we'll see. 🤞

Talking with some Lucid folks about this recently, they say the issue is the availability of parts, not just for your car, but for the entire batch. It's clear they are trying to maximize production output, which results in out-of-order delivery relative to when orders were placed. There was also a news article recently where Lucid said the inventory models of Gravity were built only to keep the production line going with parts that were available:

“Although we still have a substantial order backlog, temporary production constraints resulted in a few vehicles that couldn’t be matched to specific customer orders,” a Lucid spokesperson told EV on Friday in response to the report.
If you keep up with the news, you know there are all kinds of tariff- and supply chain-related issues for everyone in the auto industry right now. Lucid is no exception, and as a small player, they are even more disadvantaged.

Now that they are building my GGT ^^^, I'd love to hear from the forum on a couple updates.
1. What are we currently seeing in production to delivery times?
2. Has anyone received all the discounts - 7500 (tax), 2000 (loyalty), and 2000 (competitor). I ordered last Nov, own an Air, and own a Polestar 3.
3. Has anyone GGT (not Dream) received 2 key fobs?

My operating mindset is a 36 month lease because: (1) in three years the solid state battery tech should be available and everyone will likely want to upgrade either for a lighter car (less battery weight, same range) or a higher range car, and a longer life battery, (2) the general technology (motors, software, etc) is iterating and improving at a crazy pace; and (3) competition continues to increase and release amazing vehicles that should drive price down. Likely once solid state batteries are out, I'll purchase a Gravity and drive it into the sunset.
1. My SA said to expect 4 weeks to factory gate after start of production. It turned out to be almost 6. He said to expect 2 weeks for delivery and PDI and it was a matter of days (caveat: I live in AZ and the factory is a 45-minute drive from the SC).
2. I was told the 7500 credit applies (at least for leasing, I didn't ask) but the 2K conquest and loyalty credits applied only to Air. May change in November, he said, but I'm not confident it will.
3. A few folks have posted they received 2 fobs with a GGT but my guess is this was an exception. I'm more interested in PaaK being available - I never carry my Air fob.
4.,. You did not ask, but a mobile charger is included. Plus J1772 and CCS1 (1000V/500A) adapters.

So, I took delivery on Friday. So far I am enjoying the car, especially the handling and the cavernous interior space. I have a GDE and I received 2 fobs and 2 keycards at delivery, as well as the GDE frunk seat. They tossed in a tire repair kit as well, which is really nice.

Pickup was fine, but not without hiccups. Most notably, the car had connectivity issues that prevented us from setting up my profile. We tried a few tricks - a reset, getting in and out of the car, etc., but the car would not connect to wifi or cellular networks after all the delivery advisor's tricks were exhausted. He called in two service folks with laptops and after 10-15 minutes we were able to finally get it straight. I also had a rear wheel steer unavailable alert the first time I tried to put it in gear. Delivery advisor was a very, very nice fellow.

I have already had to reset my fob once, but the key card worked to start the vehicle in the meantime. I think I am on 3.3.5, but I'm not 100% sure because my car says 3.3.5 but my app says 3.3.2. Delivery advisor swore I had the key fob firmware updates, but I don't know how I'd know for sure.

I have a few other little bugs but nothing has caused more than minor inconvenience.

I'm using the same strategy. The availability of solid-state batteries will most certainly reduce the value of batteries based on liquid electrolytes, except perhaps for the cheap ones (LPF, LMR). EVs depreciate enough already, and I don't want to be stuck with an even lower value vehicle when the solid-state transition happens (and it has already started, at least in China).

That's right! Solid state batteries are around the corner.... they have been that way for the past 15 years! 🤦‍♂️😂🤣😁
