I didn't even realize this thread existed; probably skipped past it because it immediately refers to the LCHC, which I do not have. I'm using the Mobile Charging Cable in a garage, and have run into this approximately-half-rate charging issue since May. It did seem to begin occurring after an update, but the frequency is intermittent so it's hard to nail down a specific version.
I would see 9kW ever since start of ownership, now I see 4kW about every-other time I charge the car. SOC does not seem to matter. Garage is very warm, but nothing unusual. The cable from the NEMA 14-50 to the Control Unit is hot, while the remainder (to the car) is room temperature.
Thanks to the most recent update that allows us to view/adjust the Current Limiter, I was able to snap this picture which effectively proves the vehicle is in control of what's happening here. Normally, the limit is "80 A". When inexplicably throttling, the limit range is reduced to "16 A".
It's quite frustrating to wake up at 6AM for a 400-mile drive and find out that you're going to have to stop en-route because the car decided the original Time Remaining was far too soon and should have a few more hours tacked on.
