Gravity Delivery Discussion

I could tell that some SAs are way more responsive than others. That’s the reason I inquired about trying to request a different one. I don’t even contact them frequently.
My SA has been very unresponsive. I texted someone else's SA asking if they could take my account - crickets. I've tried contacting [email protected] asking for a different SA only to have my original SA on one of his rare attempts to get me.

Granted I've not placed an order. Told my SA I'd consider a cash purchase for any model with 7 seats and a tow hitch. Again, nothing back from them. They could likely sell cars if they tried but they are unable or unwilling to do so. Doesn't help that the nearest location is 6 hours away.

Fortunately I'm not in a huge hurry - more looking for the right SA and right car. Don't have either today so I'm just a spectator until something happens with the Lucid sales process. Maybe I'll use a fake name and see if someone else gets assigned.

Suggestions welcome.

sorry to hear this. My SA has been amazing and was instrumental in helping match me to an inventory car to take delivery sooner. It really does vary.

On a different note - back to deliveries - I am scheduled for Monday morning for my GGT. Also have an GDE order but don’t expect that any time soon.

Insanely excited and working on my delivery checklist (which, if history repeats itself, I will be too excited to review on delivery).

My SA has been pretty responsive, but for fear that he will get overloaded if I tell people his name, I am keeping quiet.

If you haven't placed an order, I'm not too surprised you're not getting much traction on a response - SAs are busy enough with actual order holders. Out of curiosity, if you know you want a 7 seater with a tow hitch, why not order one? A lot of people here have been offered orphaned vehicles that don't quite match their orders, but if you don't have an actual order, why would they offer you an orphaned vehicle?Just a thought.

They’re not offering him a car cuz lucid sucks and they don’t care about selling cars. Or maybe it’s because of the delay in production ramp up due to difficulty getting the magnets for the motors and so priority is going to those who ordered awhile ago and towards vehicles already in production? It’s definitely either that they suck or that there’s a good reason for it, not sure which 🤷‍♂️

I wasn't aware of the Purluxe material tearing issues. That's concerning as we have two young boys with one more on the way. Hopefully, this is remedied by the time our Lunar Titanium is produced.
I’m sure it’s durable if not intentionally abused.

Snapped this pic of the driver’s seat (purelux Yosemite) in one of the studio cars on display in the Meatpacking District Studio a few months ago in New York (before flying home to SF for my own GDE delivery). The sales advisor at the time explained that a large man with keys in his back pocket caused the tear.

Just trying to predict the future I guess. I have a '17 Model S in perfect condition but no more warranty. I love driving that car but am also at 99% Gravity is next. It's just a matter of when.

Seriosuly. Love how that SA basically said “some fat guy with keys cut up our seats”… I think the issue was the keys. Not aware of a weight limit for passengers. I think that just applies to the tow hitch. Hopefully, no one is towing a human…

Back to the treadmill to prep for my delivery. 🤣

I have been very happy with Edsley at the Tyson's Corner Studio. When I've called, I either get him or a text saying that he's with a customer and will call me before the end of the day. I usually get a call with an answer to my question or a simple "they haven't given us any information on that yet". At least he's honest and tells me that he doesn't have an answer and doesn't try to bs me

Picked up my Black GDE today morning, whoooooo!!!!

Got a scare while on the road, service center called that there was some fault that needed to be looked at this morning and tried to catch me before I headed out. But since I was already almost there I just went and it turned out to just be a SW login to vehicle issue that was quickly resolved.

Took less than an hour for the walkthrough. Got one key fob and one key card, told me one more key fob will come.

Congrats! Let us know impressions when you can…

I wonder how the leather would have held up to that?

And what reason did the SA give for the other two Yosemite tears that were photographed during that event? I can't find the photo I had of the third tear, but here's the other one from the NYC event:

These things get beaten-up badly and are not watched at events like this. That could’ve been anything get caught on it.

My experience is perforated leather alternative is always more prone to rip if snagged.

Not making excuses, but people beat this stuff up. I don’t think it’s indicative of the ultimately resilience of the material. I’ve seen the same issue with demos of Teslas. That said, Tesla did redo its fake white material. The original was awesome and very supple - and apparently prone to tearing.

Whatever happens, pick what you like and odds are you’ll be fine.

I agree in general. My point was more that I've only seen this kind of damage reported in both Gravities and Airs with the Purluxe material, not with the leather upholstery. There were cars with Tahoe leather interiors at the NYC event, too, but only the Yosemite upholstery got torn.

I'm still sticking with our order for Yosemite in our next Gravity. As with anything else, I'll trust Lucid to deal with it should something happen, whether under or outside of warranty. They've not left me holding any bags yet in the past almost four years.

Heard that all the orphan vehicles have been claimed.
No movement on my downgraded GGT order. I wish we knew what aspects of configurations are holding anything up- I was told in studio that chips for DDpro are the reason there aren't any airs available with DDpro. For me, not going to forgo that feature on any ev.
No clue why there was no movement on my DE, and no clue if keeping it would have been expedited- didn't seem to be something that expedited for others and GGTs were being produced and delivered- in fact it seems that having a DE in white put me far down the pack.

We know HUD and power outlets are a hold up for DEs. We also know they weren’t producing white until recently.

Not sure about DDPro. It does seem like production of “fully loaded” GGTs has slowed, but that’s just from watching the forum.
