Gravity Delivery Discussion

Dream 104 picked up in Dallas, TX today

Black, Tahoe, 20/21"

About 2.5 months since notification of building to delivery date. Including ~2.5 weeks of delivery prep.

We're still seeing no activity on our Black / Yosemite DE order.

Given that there have been posts on this forum of at least three different upholstery tears in Gravities in showrooms with the synthetic Yosemite interior, I'm hoping that the delay is because Lucid has gone back to the drawing board with the supplier on that material. No Tahoe leather interiors have been reported to have similar tears, although plenty of them have been on the same showroom circuit.

Yosemite is "Purluxe" (synthetic). Tahoe is leather. I'd be worried about all the Purluxe interiors if that were on my config. Would there be differences between colors? Maybe...???

Another week, still no movement on either of my orders. Still working on reframing my expectations. Trying to use hope that they'll iron out some of the quality issues in the meantime as a way to see the glass as half full.

I wasn't aware of the Purluxe material tearing issues. That's concerning as we have two young boys with one more on the way. Hopefully, this is remedied by the time our Lunar Titanium is produced.

I believe Lucid has been using Purluxe as the base interior material in the Air for a couple years. I would think that if there was an issue with it, Lucid would have made adjustments by now.

One would think, but some Air owners have also reported some issues with the Purluxe.

The leather in our Air Dream Edition has held up beautifully for over 40,000 miles, and we have Tahoe leather in our Gravity Dream. But we ordered Yosemite for our second Gravity Dream after seeing it on our test drive a few months back. For one thing, we didn't want the same interior in both cars. For another, the Yosemite interior with the light wood trim was really striking. All three of us who went for the test drive kinda flipped over it, even though it hadn't impressed us that much in earlier showroom visits with what we thought was a chalky appearance (perhaps because of the artificial lighting).

But seeing the photos of the seat tears from the New York press event a few months ago has left me a bit worried.

They are making Gravity with the Mojave Purluxe (I heard of some in inventory), so perhaps there’s something unique with theYosemite that’s an issue. The Mojave Purluxe ones in inventory were the one with less options (eg no dynamic handling package, etc)…

Congrats! I am taking delivery this weekend at Tyson’s. How many key fob did they give you?
Doing home delivery.
Was supposed to be today around 4, but driver is delayed til 9pm. Was offered tomorrow morning 8-11 for better lighting. Accepted.

SA says 1 key fob and 1 key card.
We'll see tomorrow morning.

Congrats! Now I'm no longer alone in my black DE on the streets of Dallas! 🤣

I am told there is a very basic black on black vehicle with no thrills available if someone wants it.

Just make a call to your SA.

There were two when I last checked. Both black, Mojave Purluxe and NO comfort and convenience and NO dynamic handling. I couldn’t compromise on either of those.

NO offense, but I’d wait for the Touring before I took one of those…

Is there any way to request a different SA? Mine has been very unresponsive.
Rather than request a different one I’d call your local studio and talk to the sales manager. Not in a Karen sort of way but just say “Oh I was wondering if you knew of any updates on my vehicle as I’d reached out to my SA but have not received an acknowledgement of my communication”. It’s likely they just have no information to relay, but it’s still courteous to at least acknowledge the inquiry.

In some states (like Washington) they are not allowed to "sell" or offer financing. So we don't even have local sales managers. My very quiet SA is actually from CA.

Not sure if Lucid has anybody monitor this forum or if anybody in the forum has connections to Lucid management. My SA, R****** Marquez, hasn’t responded to my countless emails, texts and calls for more than a month now. For a simple configuration change, for example, I have to wait for more than a week and then have to email [email protected]. While Lucid designs and makes good cars, my experience with the company is very disappointing.

Yeah I dunno. I've just resorted to emailing multiple SAs. My Rivian guy calls me every day to get an update on my situation. Makes me think the manufacturing issues they addressed in the earnings call are impacting availability and lucid SAs are avoiding customers. Tagging @marqie for awareness.

I hope Lucid improves their communication on the sales side. So far it’s been disappointing. My Rivian guy is super responsive. If not for the fact that I absolutely loved the Gravity test drive, I d have bought the R1S by now.

That’s disappointing. My SA was very responsive and went out of his way to offer inventory cars and orphans. Have you tried calling the studio? Is there a studio in WA? I believe the experience you are having is based solely on your SA. My Rivian SA was fairly unresponsive. So I actually had the opposite experience. Owning both a new Quad and a GDE I smile much more when I get in the gravity. The quad drives much more like a truck. If you can only get one car I would get the gravity…..

There is a studio in Seattle literally 40 min from where I live. But my understanding is that due to WAstate law they are not allowed to discuss sales…As far as the SA,I could tell that some SAs are way more responsive than others. That’s the reason I inquired about trying to request a different one. I don’t even contact them frequently.
