Gravity Delivery Discussion

Good luck and if you drive up to tahoe, please report back on speed, range, charging if necessary. Very interested if you can drive to tahoe without stopping to charge and what battery you arrived with.
I’m in the East Bay and can reach Truckee on a 100% charge from my home in my Model Y. If you can’t reach Tahoe in a Gravity I’d be very surprised.

When you get assigned a pick up day and time, does that also show up in your dashboard?

That’s how it worked for our Rivian, first pick up location appeared, then date and time. Curious to know how much I need to keep refreshing my dashboard! 😀

I went to see my GGT yesterday.
After the visit, I emphasize the importance of knowing facts as much as possible.

My SA let me know prior to my arrival that she had been asked to attend a meeting last minute and would have to step away during some of my visit.
I started with her and then worked with another SA (4 yrs. with Lucid; not a newby).
When I asked about the adapters, the "stand-in" SA tried to convince me that only the J1772-to-NACS adapter was provided and I would have to purchase the CCS-to-NACS adapter. Just as I was about to show him the Lucid press release, he reached deep into the center console and pulled out both adapters. When I asked about removing the aero covers on the 21/22 wheels and installing the wheel cap kit, he stated that the wheels did not come with aero covers. I pulled up the online configurator to show him otherwise. He eventually apologized and said he hadn't done many Gravity delivery. What was more puzzling wa that there's a Gravity on 21/22s with aero covers in an area as you enter the service center. Nobody is perfect. I chock it up to memory fart and leave it at that.

My SA returned.
She was able to move my delivery date up from next Tuesday to tomorrow.
She checked with the service center manager, they have the wheel cap kit that I want and it will be installed prior to delivery tomorrow.

As much as you can, be informed.

We had a similarly-uninformed delivery advisor with our delivery back on June 30. I'm a bit surprised that there has not been some further training for them since then. Something as simple as a Zoom video training session would go a long way.

Yes, and you should also get an email. (You may also get a call beforehand.)
Got it, thanks. Mine’s a little weird because I am not picking it up at my “home” SC. It was en route to a different one when I grabbed it and it will take a while for a one off transfer, so I am going to the other SC to pick it up - don’t know who SA will be etc.

It will give me an awesome chance to have a 2.5 hour ride home, alone, in my new GGT!

I was surprised to receive an emailed invitation to make the switch from the GGT I ordered (and which is scheduled to go into production in "late August") ...
Checked in to see if the production schedule had changed, and indeed, I'm now told my GGT is scheduled to enter production in the "third week of September" and will be ready for delivery 30-45 days after that. What prompted my question to my SA was the conversations on here regarding the Power Package (plugs) and the smaller wheels. I specifically asked if those features might be delaying production, and that went unanswered. Which, honestly, I took as a "yes," given the apparent 3 week revision in production.

My specs were GGT AG, Stealth, 20/21, 5 seats, Yosemite, DD Premium, Sound Pro, no towing, Power package (but no HUD), Dynamic Handling, and Comfort/Convenience.

This is good to hear. I have similar specs but black. Got the exact same timeline(close to end of Sept production run) and answers(Did not get an explicit confirmation of the smaller wheels and power package delaying delivery).. The consistency of information makes it feel a lot more dependable.

Picked up our GGT (Abyss, Tahoe, Stealth, 21/22, all packages except HUD and power) today at Plainview, NY. Our first EV. Experience was awesome, staff is patient, friendly. So far only driven the car an hour to Brooklyn, already love it. Turns in Gravity feel so good. I want to keep going around curves in it. Didn't feel like I was driving a big car at all. Excited to take it to NJ this weekend to push it a little.

Even though I made the checklist, was too excited to go through it properly haha. Luckily the staff walked through most of the things anyway. Only thing missing was two adapters that they will ship to us soon.

Btw, they have only delivered a handful of Gravity to date but pace is picking up fast. Now starting to get 3-4 new ones in every truck that brings new cars.

I don't know how reliable this is , but MB supposedly is cutting the price of their EVs.
If true, I wonder how this is going to impact Gravity's orders with the 15K price cut for EQS SUV.
This only brings the larger model with still less range than a Gravity to about equal in price to a Gravity GGT. I can understand why they’re reducing prices. They were overpriced to begin with, in my opinion.

Heck, I'd welcome any matching offer from Lucid for my GGT order.

It’s a little strange that they’re literally sending out a bum link (meant for the Air) with the delivery schedule appointment email. Why not just not include the link…oh well, good thing I’ve watched hours and hours of videos and read this forum for months!

Having owned an EQS580 SUV (traded in 2 weeks ago) and a Gravity DE, I prefer the Gravity. MB understates its range, while I find the Gravity's range to be overstated. In practice, I might get 10 more miles in my Gravity (which has the larger wheels), which is negligible. Charging speed is a significant advantage for the Gravity. However, the MB works well with Tesla Superchargers. The MB seats are excellent, and the HUD is currently better. Hopefully, the Lucid HUD will improve with software updates. The prices are quite similar. The MB has a spacious second row, but the third row is cramped (we had the 2-row version). The MB's brakes are very odd and disappointing, as many have reported. Regenerative braking only works with the paddle shifters, and the software is generally poor. But still not a bad car - MB has stopped production of EVs in the US for now as sales were disappointing and reviews were middling at best.

My guess is you’re rare in coming from a Mercedes EV to a different EV.

That said, I hear you and think there are so many variables and trade offs (eg real range, storage, charging speed, looks, feel, software, etc) that make it a really personal decision. This is why I get frustrated when some in the media just put together a matrix that says “this car is better” - too hard to do that.

Finally a Long Island delivery! 🙂

Dream 104 picked up in Dallas, TX today

Black, Tahoe, 20/21"

About 2.5 months since notification of building to delivery date. Including ~2.5 weeks of delivery prep.
Congrats on taking delivery of my favorite config! :)

When did you place your order?
