Gravity Bugs / Issues

Tesla app or Circuit Electrique app works ok though? I took my Air GT to Montreal, never needed fast charging just plugged in L2 at various garages. On the way back to Rhode Island I stopped at the Merrimack NH EA outlets which are so fast you don’t have time to shop.
The problem I had was in VT yesterday -- I plugged in at a Supercharger and it failed, then the app said Lucid Charging Service is disabled and to check my Lucid Wallet. Everything was fine in the Wallet, but I still could not plug-and-charge. I had no problem using the Tesla app, so no big deal. At the suggestion of this forum, I just deleted and re-added my credit card and got a notification that the Charging Service was restored. We'll see how it goes...

I'm currently in Canada and am trying to resolve my plug-and-charge problem by removing my credit card and re-adding it. Because I am coming from a Canadian IP address, the Lucid Wallet is requiring that I enter a Canadian zip code.(Time to connect to my VPN back home.) 🫠
Doing this resolved the issue for me.

Having spent more time in my gravity over the past week or so of ownership, I've noticed a few quirks and am wondering if folks who have also taken delivery have noticed same in their vehicles. I'm certain one of them will require service at some point, but would like corroboration on the other two before I add to my service ticket.

Issue #1:
The cover plate for the mechanism that moves the driver-side middle row seats forward and backward doesn't slide closed. The cover plate on the passenger-side middle row seat does. The plate itself appears to have an eye where some sort of tether should go, connecting it to the underside of the middle seat, thereby causing it to slide in tandem with the seat -- covering when the seat is moved forward, and exposing when the seat is moved aft. I'm pretty sure there's a part missing here, so will have service take a look. If anyone were to jump into the third row, they'd definitely step on the exposed mechanism, causing damage. (see pics)

Issue #2:
When the passthrough section in the middle row (effectively the middle seat backrest in the middle row) is released using the pull-loop, and folded flat, the locking pin that keeps the backrest securely in the upright position gracefully tucks itself away as the backrest / passthrough is lowered. However, upon raising the backrest / passthrough, the pin doesn't re-expose itself to allow the section to re-latch. It remains stowed in its slot, which seems weird to me. If I want the backrest / passthrough to re-latch, I have to stick my finger in the slot and jimmy the locking pin back out, and extend it fully so the backrest / passthrough will re-latch and lock. Is this expected behavior, or is mine not working properly? (see pics).

Issue #3:
The side buttons on the middle row seatbacks are intended to quickly power the outboard seats forward, then fold the seatback forward, allowing access to the third row. The button on the driver's side middle row seat powers the seat forward, but doesn't fold the seatback forward. I have to reach down and use the manual setback recline lever to do that. I thought the single button on the seatback was supposed to do both. On the passenger side middle row seatback, when that button is pressed, it produces the opposite effect. It folds the seatback forward but does NOT power the seat forward. I must reach down and use the power fore / aft controls for that function. Weird.

I got routed to a Circuit Electrique today and... I think I'm just going to hide everything other than Tesla Superchargers in the nav. It "worked" but the experience is awful. Download another app, create an account, pre-load value, and then the site was listed as "350kW" but it was really 2x24kw, a single 120kw, and a single 180kw. Thankfully the 120 kW was open, but all these half-assed charging sites that have 4 bays where less than half can provide full power... it's such a waste of time.

I don't understand how anyone is support to take EA/EC/CE/EVGo/etc seriously. It's like having a grocery store than only stocks 2 gallons of milk per day, and maybe has a few 10oz bottles too.

Any idea why our dashboard always indicates a posted speed limit of either 18 or 28 mph, neither of which we have ever seen posted on a sign? Is this because our nav system is not functioning? I assumed the car was getting the speed limit information from the car's cameras, not from the GPS system.

The car was showing 28 mph after passing several signs posting a 45 mph speed limit, and this photo was taken after we turned off onto our street with a 30 mph posted speed limit, at which time the indicator switched to 18 mph. These are the only two speed limits we've seen indicated since we picked up the car a month ago.

28 could be a conversion to miles when thinking the speed limit is 45 km/h. But 30 km/h I'd expect to round up to 19, not down to 18, so that theory could be wrong.

If you have DDPro, isn’t it supposed to read the speed limit sign (like a Tesla) vs rely on GPS? Our R1S uses GPS and it’s quite annoying. That said it’s never as off as what you’re experiencing.

I support the conversion theory from KM to Mi because both of those systems go by 5s so it either ends in a 0 or a 5. Something has to be converting, poorly, to end up with something ending in an 8.

Definitely a bug to be squashed.

Boy, @hmp10 between your HUD and other somewhat unique bugs, I do hope they can address you challenges quickly!

But why would the speedometer display in miles per hour while the speed limit displays in metric? And if it is displaying metric, why would it say “MPH” instead of “KPH”, while the image in the HUD reads “MPH”?

My partner is Polish, and his profile sets all the readouts to metric, including temperature, speed, range, etc. But my profile, which I was using this evening, is set to read out in English units. And all the other readouts were showing in English this evening. Why would only the posted speed limit display remain in metric?

Boy, @hmp10 between your HUD and other somewhat unique bugs, I do hope they can address you challenges quickly!

I've already given up that hope and reconciled myself to the fact that we're going to have the same months-long slog of mobile service visits, transports to service centers, and calls to Customer Care we went through with the early-production Air.

While I fully expected some early-production glitches with the Gravity, I had really been hoping Lucid had learned at least a few lessons since early Air days about when a vehicle is ready to be put in a customer's hands.

Right now we're waiting to hear:

- when the HUD unit can be replaced
- what has to be done to make the GPS and navigation systems operative
- when and how the second-row rattles will be fixed
- why we're getting this hinky posted speed readout
- why, when we hit the hot button on the squircle to change drive modes, we often instead get the prompt to program the button for a mode shift
- why we have to go into the settings repeatedly at start-up to turn off lane departure warning, the drowsy driver alert, and other Dream Drive features we find more annoying than helpful.

Weird. Now I have to definitely test 2 &3
1 for sure I something not attached or a part missing.

I live in Los Angeles and charging infrastructure around here seems to be pretty good. I've had 100% success with EA, Tesla and EVgo chargers hitting very high charging rates on all three networks. Probably has a lot to do with where most EV companies are/were located and where most of the early vehicles were sold.

Which Circuit Electrique was it? I think the hotel St Pierre one in Montreal was a nightmare when I tried it so I went through everything you just said and gave up and just found a garage with L2 charger and left the car (almost every parking garage in Montreal has L2). What’s even better is that garage has car detailing services, here’s my GT after, the guy did a great job as you can tell by the before and after shots, but skip the interior detail work, it has a strong smell. It’s the garage under the Quartier du Centre Montreal, that big shopping plaza that’s also a metro stop.

I've had several successful charges at 320+ kW sites, it's just that there are (around here) so many small sites that are clogged with slow-charging vehicles. At least with Tesla, there are 8-24 stalls at each site so I'm not waiting 30 minutes to charge.

We had some mixed experiences today. I stopped by a non-busy Circuit Electrique today and got 320kW sustained for a while:
IMG_7132.webp

Later we stopped by a Rivian Adventure Network site, which was very awkward in terms of cable length and location, and didn't work. It might have been a timing issue, but we went back to the EA site that was full instead of trying to debug. The EA site was 4 "balanced" 350 kW chargers, and on a shared post we couldn't get more than 115 kW. Once we moved to a non-shared charger we burst to 325kW for a while. With overly congested tiny sites and power sharing, all of these non-Tesla sites are just not a good experience. I hope this gets better. (Unfortunately the Tesla Supercharger in the same locale is mixed V2+V3 and so not open to NACS partners.)

Also, as mentioned above, the Lucid app data on all these stations was correct, but the in-vehicle nav had wrong charge-rate data and listed the unavailable Tesla. It's bizarre to me that the app and the car pull from different data sources here.

Separately, the Gravity continues to be very confused about imperial vs metric units:

We passed 1500 miles traveled on the way home. Despite my charging complaints -- not a Lucid issue -- everything is still miles ahead of traveling in our X.

Do you still have your X? If so, do you have a windshield cover for it? Want to know if it fits the Gravity in the meantime waiting for lucid to come out with theirs.

We do have our X, but we just have the sunscreens -- not an opaque windshield cover while parked (which I think it what you're asking about). The Gravity definitely gets much less heat through the windshield than the X, though, so whatever coatings they are using are much better.
