Gravity Bugs / Issues

I've had several successful charges at 320+ kW sites, it's just that there are (around here) so many small sites that are clogged with slow-charging vehicles. At least with Tesla, there are 8-24 stalls at each site so I'm not waiting 30 minutes to charge.

We had some mixed experiences today. I stopped by a non-busy Circuit Electrique today and got 320kW sustained for a while:

Later we stopped by a Rivian Adventure Network site, which was very awkward in terms of cable length and location, and didn't work. It might have been a timing issue, but we went back to the EA site that was full instead of trying to debug. The EA site was 4 "balanced" 350 kW chargers, and on a shared post we couldn't get more than 115 kW. Once we moved to a non-shared charger we burst to 325kW for a while. With overly congested tiny sites and power sharing, all of these non-Tesla sites are just not a good experience. I hope this gets better. (Unfortunately the Tesla Supercharger in the same locale is mixed V2+V3 and so not open to NACS partners.)

Also, as mentioned above, the Lucid app data on all these stations was correct, but the in-vehicle nav had wrong charge-rate data and listed the unavailable Tesla. It's bizarre to me that the app and the car pull from different data sources here.
I don’t think Rivian chargers are open to any car other than Rivian, oddly…

Separately, the Gravity continues to be very confused about imperial vs metric units:

We passed 1500 miles traveled on the way home. Despite my charging complaints -- not a Lucid issue -- everything is still miles ahead of traveling in our X.
This excites me, being an X driver. Awaiting my Gravity being built.

My plug n charge on the SC network no longer works. I needed to initiate the charge through the Tesla app in order to charge.

Delete and re-add your credit card. This seems to have happened to many people on Saturday.

I did😄 4x exactly and just gave up and went through the Tesla app instead.

It's been a week now since our mobile tech came out to assess the issues we're having with the bright HUD ghosts dancing across the windshield, the navigation and GPS systems not working, and the second row seats rattling and squeaking. The tech is staying in touch and as on top of things as he always has done, but he's not getting any word from Lucid about when or how they're going to address any of these issues.

We've had this car over a month now, and I'm starting to wonder if Lucid is any position right now to address the problems with Gravities they're putting in the field, whether it be hardware shortages, software problems they can't figure out, or internal debates about what problems take what priority.

We've already canceled one trip we had planned to take in the Gravity, and I'm now getting worried about a trip we have scheduled to start September 9.

The HUD is the biggest issue so good thing they are not doing ones with HUD anymore LOL

Actually for us the HUD is the most amenable to a stopgap fix, especially with the limited functionality it currently has which displays no more information than you get on the glass cockpit, anyway. We just throw a towel over the screen. The second row seat noises are loud enough to hear over medium audio system volume, and it really grates after a while. And I really want native navigation with its integrated charge route planning on a road trip.

You, too, huh? I'm no software engineer, but I can't even guess how this could be happening.
I was still in Canada at the time of that picture, and the vehicle was auto-converting metric speed limits to imperial on the dash... so I suspect someone just left out a "convertToDefaultDisplayUnits()" call. Home now and all of the fields are now in miles again.

Having spent more time in my gravity over the past week or so of ownership, I've noticed a few quirks and am wondering if folks who have also taken delivery have noticed same in their vehicles. I'm certain one of them will require service at some point, but would like corroboration on the other two before I add to my service ticket.

Issue #1:
The cover plate for the mechanism that moves the driver-side middle row seats forward and backward doesn't slide closed. The cover plate on the passenger-side middle row seat does. The plate itself appears to have an eye where some sort of tether should go, connecting it to the underside of the middle seat, thereby causing it to slide in tandem with the seat -- covering when the seat is moved forward, and exposing when the seat is moved aft. I'm pretty sure there's a part missing here, so will have service take a look. If anyone were to jump into the third row, they'd definitely step on the exposed mechanism, causing damage. (see pics)
Not the case on mine. Definitely a service item.

Issue #2:
When the passthrough section in the middle row (effectively the middle seat backrest in the middle row) is released using the pull-loop, and folded flat, the locking pin that keeps the backrest securely in the upright position gracefully tucks itself away as the backrest / passthrough is lowered. However, upon raising the backrest / passthrough, the pin doesn't re-expose itself to allow the section to re-latch. It remains stowed in its slot, which seems weird to me. If I want the backrest / passthrough to re-latch, I have to stick my finger in the slot and jimmy the locking pin back out, and extend it fully so the backrest / passthrough will re-latch and lock. Is this expected behavior, or is mine not working properly? (see pics).
I will test this. I didn't realize I could just put down the middle! Does it just fold forward? The "full flat" 2nd row for cargo has the seats flip forward, and I think the middle is attached the left...

Issue #3:
The side buttons on the middle row seatbacks are intended to quickly power the outboard seats forward, then fold the seatback forward, allowing access to the third row. The button on the driver's side middle row seat powers the seat forward, but doesn't fold the seatback forward. I have to reach down and use the manual setback recline lever to do that. I thought the single button on the seatback was supposed to do both. On the passenger side middle row seatback, when that button is pressed, it produces the opposite effect. It folds the seatback forward but does NOT power the seat forward. I must reach down and use the power fore / aft controls for that function. Weird.
On mine tapping the button moves the seat forward and tilts the back forward, on both sides. (I wouldn't call it "quick", though.) So this also sounds like a service item for you.

Then our cause might be different. We were in the U.S., the speed limit signs are posted in Imperial units, and the car was set to display Imperial units. Yet we got speedometer readouts in MPH and posted speed displays apparently in KPH . . . and not because the system was converting MPH on the sign to KPH on the car display. If so, a 45mph speed limit would be converted to display as 72kph, not to the 28 we're seeing.

If I was debugging this, I would speculate it's related to your weird GPS issues. The vehicle obviously "knows" what the speed limits are supposed to be, perhaps from the HERE map data, and then "knows" what units it's "supposed to" present info in. That's pretty wild though -- I assume you've reset/set the preferred units in your profile and so forth. We had weird F/C temperature issues on delivery, but nothing like what you're describing. I'm guessing they re-pushed 3.2.2 and you've done a factory reset, so the problems you're seeing are unfortunately quite the mystery.

we have this as well and it was sending me over the edge. I tried moving the left seat up 1/4” and it was still present. I put it back ave moved the right seat up 1/4” and still present. Oddly, what mostly cured it was our daughter riding in the backseat for one drive. It is still there but just when we are on an especially rough road or section. Not sure it will help but maybe try using the back seat (if you haven’t) and see if that helps.

You may recall my post about how I was able to fix the 2nd row noises... The way I came to my particular solution to fix the problem involved me getting into the 2nd row and basically sitting in all three 3 of the seats while aggressively wobbling and bouncing around a bit to replicate the noise...then I realized that there was a position I could place both seats in at the same time to fix it. The positioning of my seats that fixed it may be unique to my car...you may be able to find a different combo of positions to fix the issue in yours. It's worth a try and honestly only took me a minute or two to find the sweet spot.

On a side note, my mobile tech called me today to schedule some fixes on my car from issues noted at delivery and I discussed the 2nd row rattle with him. He just got back from Gravity Repair Training Boot Camp and told me that basically the "fix" for it would be to replace the 2nd row seats...which is apparently the hardest of all the fixes they trained on due to the assembly (not sure if it's 2 pieces or one big unit) weighs 250lbs and needing about 4 people to move it into place. I told him I'd spare him from that repair for the time being as currently I'm not having the issue as long as I don't move the seats. 🤣 That being said, given that others have the issue, I'm not sure that swapping out the 2nd row seats would actually solve the problem if it's a problem in the actual seat design (unless there's a 2nd revision in the works).

The “Update Failed” message has been stuck on my screen for the past 10 days (since last Saturday). Hoping it resolves soon with a fix.

Also, Sanctuary Mode isn’t working. I hadn’t tried it in a while, but after about a month, I tested it again today — still no luck. I’m wondering if this could be related to the failed update? Anyone else seeing this?

Definitely something wonky with the software on your car. Have they tried repushing it or doing some sort of hard/factory reset?

Customer care reached out to me last Saturday asking why I hadn’t updated yet. When I explained that I’m getting an “Update Failed” error, the person said they would notify the team. That was the last contact I’ve had regarding this issue.
Just patiently waiting at the moment to see how it gets resolved.

Lucid fixes problems at the end ,but takes its own sweet time. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think the speed limit sign recognition was incorrectly interpreting the number on the sign as KPH, and displaying that speed in MPH.

Someone pointed out that 30KPH is closer to 19MPH (18.6), but that would be slightly over the limit, so they would rather display the integer closest but less than the computed speed limit.
