Gravity Delivery Discussion

I just got off the phone with Lucid Customer Service. I had a Gravity Touring ordered on day 1. Then took the Dream Edition deal in white. Then when wondering why it wasn’t being produced learned (through the forum) that the car needed to be black or green. So i changed color to green. Now the representative confirmed they don’t have enough of the tech packages (which i guess means HUD) so i won’t make the production run. Now they want me to switch back to the GT without the tech packages (they have VINS available - could get within two months……but i probably won’t get my 1k back if i change or cancel my order. What a load of Ship. If i cancel, and they don’t give me back the 1k since they now cannot deliver what they said they would deliver, my head will pop off. If not that, at least i will decide to never buy a LUCId NO MAtter what. The level of incompetence, lack of information, dishonesty are, to me, a death Nell for this company. I don’t see it surviving. Who else has been treated like Poo???

It’s like I want the car but not the bugs…so a bit of a competition. I want the $7500 lease discount but I know in 2026 there will come a time where it will be cheaper…decisions decisions.

Probably totally wrong, but I was told DDPro actually slowed your delivery (DEs aside) as it is a far less commonly chosen option on the GGTs and so it’s batched less…It’s less understood, apparently, as many folks think they can upgrade post delivery (like Tesla FSD) when, in fact, that’s actually not possible.

Who knows…

Facial Recognition: Is the facial recognition camera working? Can profiles be set up using it?

Navigation/Satellite Location: Are the navigation system and the mobile app accurately showing the location of your car? (One person reported that a mobile tech had to reload 3.2.0 before their location was accurate, and Customer Care told me that a mobile tech would have to do the same for us.)


Homelink: I have encountered no success thus far. I will remain patient and await further updates.

Facial Recognition: The vehicle does possess active recognition capabilities. When in adaptive cruise control, it becomes irritated if you are not looking forward. While it may not be able to recognize a specific face, it can discern when you are not looking forward. However, true facial recognition is not yet available. The default settings in my vehicle had all of these features disabled. The HUD was also disabled, despite the manufacturer’s instructions indicating that it defaults to enabled.

Navigation: Initially, my car believed I was driving in a swamp. After 10 minutes, it successfully located itself and resumed normal operation. This behavior is identical to that observed with all other GPS systems searching for a signal.

This is the second report of HUD units now being unavailable for Gravity Dream production. The other poster was told by his SA that Dream production is delayed for another 1-2 months.

This probably explains why the Dream we ordered the day orders opened in Black/Yosemite still doesn't have a VIN assigned. We have already received our Green/Tahoe GDE, but the black one was ordered 5 weeks earlier.

I have tried finding out both from my SA and from Lucid Customer Care (which doesn't have access to the sales database) what is going on, but no one will say or admit that there is a holdup on GDE production.

So yeah, a birdy at Lucid told me the HUDs were still the bottleneck for them unfortunately. It's part of the reason I switched from my DE order. No idea how long it might take them to get that sorted, but my personal opinion (not from Lucid whatsoever, just reading the lay of the land) is that the HUD for the tech package is going to push back. I would not be surprised to see that go to a 2027 model. I kinda think they should just do that and concede the point and build what they can, with what they have and openly let customers know expectations. Altho many wouldn't be happy with the change, I think they'd appreciate the knowledge and the choice to go forward or cancel. Again, just me speculating and could be dead wrong and the HUDs supply issues be fixed tomorrow.

Can you share the email confirmation from Lucid showing you ordered a white Dream Edition?
 
To be fair, Lucid has clearly said (a while ago, at this point), the tech package upgrade is delayed and it says “Fall Availability” and that’s really the HUD. Last day of Fall is 12/21. I don’t think they need to give day to day or month to month updates. They MAY say something on their earnings call. Frustrating, yes. But it’s not as if they’ve been silent on it. It does appear they’re building what they can without HUD - hence the GGT deliveries we are seeing.

Based on my experience and the forum posts, it’s clearly quicker to get a non-tech GGT at this point and probably for the foreseeable future.

This is clearly AI generated, which by it self is not a bad thing, but maybe you are experiencing an issue, maybe there’s a fix in a few months, maybe this bothers you.

The above just pisses me off that you can’t get a short straight answer.

Sorry, we are working on it, current estimate a month but might take two, here is your ticket number, here is the site to check progress, here is how you can communicate and provide more details.

I do support for a living and nobody likes a generic response that clearly has no idea who you are.

Based on the responses this answer seems to be better than nothing, I might be expecting a higher standard based on the “compromise nothing”.

Have to keep reminding my self that the funds are limited and everything is rushed to try and survive.
How can anyone give a timeframe if they dont know what the issue or how to fix or how long it will take...........they aknowledging there is an issue, they are working on a fix........what else do you want?

Maybe say this issue will be fixed by August 15th?
 
People taking delivery now are paying peak prices, too. I don’t believe Lucid can increase price of Gravity any higher than it is.

However, yes, I do expect in 12 months or so they’ll have better leasing terms, etc. Also depends on when they actually begin to take orders and show specs for lower price Gravity. At this point, hard to see them delivering those in 2025, but we shall see…
Depends on how sales/production goes. If there is still demand, they dont need to. By then Touring might be out and flourishing.

And don't fogrt tariffs....every car manufacturere will be increasing prices

Just a couple of points to maybe reframe your discussion with Lucid. I don't think they want you to change to GGT, they are simply offering a car that will be completed sooner in case that's more important than the build you have configured.

And if you take them up on that, I am sure the $1k deposit will get applied to whatever Gravity you take, especially with them offering the change.
