Gravity Delivery Discussion

Just spoke to my SA again, they were able to get me a config with Green and large wheels with all the other config elements that @Disco Marathon called out.

For anything else, their answer is 8-12 weeks out. I asked him when it would go into production, so that I could watch it on my Portal. He didn't have a date. Finally flat out asked him if he had any real visibility into the internal process of prioritization and production runs and his answer was a firm No. Long story short - my SA doesnt know anything about the production process and any date he is giving shouldn't really be trusted. Wonder if anyone else has a more helpful SA that I could switch to.

The 8-12 weeks is just a "sometime in the future" answer. I would bet they aren't going to deliver on that timeline.

In reality, I don't expect any SA to know anything.

MRP is complicated, and why would an SA really need visibility into it? The only group of people who would know anything about what is coming down the production pipe is purchasing and the master planner.

IMO, you are penalizing your SA for telling you a truth you don't want/like to hear, but is the truth.

You can probably find an SA that is good at speculating and can spin you an explanation you might like, but may not be true. Your desire to switch may be one of the reasons why some SAs just make up answers.

I've got a great SA who has been able to get me a GGT that is in production. She has explained a great deal of how she does her job. She was also honest enough to tell me that she doesn't have knowledge of how the internal prioritizing with orders and production runs is playing out. I don't recall any member mentioning an SA who did know for sure; not speculation.

Your choice, but it sounds like you've got an SA willing to find a config that works for you. Some members are not in that position.

Your choice.

Stuck in a very similar situation.. Was your SA able to give you any date clarity on your config?
Nope, other than “not as long as waiting for HUD.” He made some very soft sounding statements about end of the summer. Maybe.

Congrats!! What config did you take?

i have just been given more AG options in platinum. All GT. No DE. Seems to line up with the theory that tech package hardware is a constraint. I wish black stealth would come back around on the playlist but nothing in months of bothering my SA.

I just locked into the same. Tahoe & Platinum were not my choices, nor were the larger wheels, but beggars can't be choosers. ;-) Mine is schedule to go to production mid-August. Fingers crossed.
Can always change the wheels at least......

Does anyone with the 20/21 wheels have a VIN assigned yet? I finally got in touch with an SA and his guidance was that the smaller wheels are later in the production queue. He said that was the only holdup on my order (AG, Tahoe, Stealth, 7 seats, DDP, Dynamic Handling, Power, Comfort & Convenience, Towing). Does that generally sound right? Has anyone received a VIN or taken delivery of the same order except on larger wheels?
I personally saw more than one Gravity in Tysons Corner with 20 inch tires. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of the tires. I’m also waiting on 20 inch all weather tires. No VIN assigned yet. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

I had a VIN assigned with those wheels a month ago. So I know they were making them. I had to let it go because wife wanted DDPro and we hadn’t initially ordered that. So back in line.

I’ve passed on several platinum. Desperately want the car but just love the stealth. I’d take any wheels as those can be changed, as has been said.

Power I think is an issue too.

From what I managed to gather, it was Tech Pack, Power, and smallest wheels.
There was a recent interview with Marc on Fox, indicating that there was a temporary stop on rare earth magnets from China that caused major delays. Marc seemed to imply on the earnings call that they would be able to 'dramatically' ramp Gravity production again for 2nd half of the year.
