Gravity Bugs / Issues

Our Gravity was delivered with only one fob, and we were told the second one would be mailed to us when available. I saw a post from another Gravity owner on this forum whose car was also delivered with only one fob.

This just seems bizarre.
Ditto. "Supply chain issues" strike again!

Same; we got one and were told the other would come later. But our fob and (both) keycards have all worked without issue.

I also only got 1 fob + 2 cards... Though they did tell me at delivery they thought DEs were supposed to get 2 fobs (GTs are supposed to get 1) and they put it in on my Due Bill. I haven't received it yet... Or any of the other accessories including the frunk seat.

We did get the frunk seat with our Gravity, but from other posts this seems to be a hit-and-miss thing.

On a GT, or a DE? The DEs have a "Dream Edition" seat included. What do the GT ones look like?

Thanks for the updates. Are they putting you in a Lucid Air loaner at least? Sorry for your misfortune but at least this early issue may help identify a potential for fault in other vehicles, which I’m learning is an unfortunate drawback to being an early adopter of a small volume product (I also play pinball, ask me sometime how often expensive machines end up throwing issues and needing software update or hardware tweak). Early on with my GT while I was at the service center there was a GT owner from Maine who was there and they couldn’t get any fob or app access to work, I think engineering ended up isolating it to some faulty circuit board. As annoying as it is sometimes they’re at the mercy of 3rd party suppliers that delivered a fault prone board. This happened to me with the left LIN bus which controlled the charge port door, wipers and motor coolant pump for the left side of the car. Took about a week of testing as I think my car was the first one this happened to but then it helped them more quickly identify the few times it happens in other vehicles.
Yes they’ve given me a Lucid Air GT as a loaner while they figure this out. Hopefully they can get it sorted this week.

So this is a BIG issue and please check to make sure this works properly before something bad happens.

My keep mode/creature comfort mode does not work properly.

Keep mode engages but doesn't stay on.

Creature comfort stays on but blows hot air.

Please check the functionality of this before you use it to keep a pet cool.

I'm struggling with the keyless entry like many in these threads. The fob appears to be useless except for opening the car. As soon as I get the "key not found" warning I'm dead in the water to drive the car. My intervention to actually drive has been the key card. That has some drawbacks as I don't have a profile associated with the key card so need to work through some settings. What is the 100% solutions to accessing and driving the Gravity DE? If it's the iPhone then I'll invest the energy in enabling that key but that makes it a little difficult to share the vehicle with anyone else who may need to drive it. I'm not even sure what to do at the carwash or valet yet. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Customer service got back to me last weekend and reinstalled the latest 3.2.0 update, after which my keyfob has worked every single time without missing a beat.

Great, this is good to know that it must be something related to software glitch, which means it’s solvable.

I suspect that whole the infotainment system version is the same, it probably had an update for the module that deals with the fob. Kind of like our computers have separate driver updates different devices.

Unless we have a way to see all of the individual firmware/driver versions, we wouldn't be able to distinguish between a "bad install" vs. "firmware/driver" update.

Speaking of reinstalls. On the Teslas, there's an option to reinstall the same version of the OS/Firmware by going through the diagnostic/service menu. Is there a secret service menu on Lucids that we can access? And do something similar on our own?

No

Okay so after getting my car back from service for key issues I was told my 100% solution was to use the key card only. Don't let the fob even near the vehicle. So be it. It worked for two days until last night's update. Bricked my working key card and the fob. I had to use my back up key card to access the card after 20 minutes trying to get my car to run. I am stunned that this car inherited a known defect from the previous version and these guys still don't know how to fix it. I'm losing patience quickly at this point.

Not a Gravity issue, but I was really unprepared for how incredibly awful the HERE Maps in the nav system are.

Yesterday, it directed us down a one-way street near our house in the wrong direction.

Today, it would not allow us to turn right onto the street with our house.

I've corrected both of these on the HERE Map Creator, but we live in the middle of the densest populated city in New England; it's not like they shouldn't have accurate mapping data. CarPlay cannot come soon enough.

More than any other issue with the Air, the persistent difficulties reviewer after reviewer had with getting into the car created a huge negative reputational overhang that still echoes through many discussions about Lucid.

It is deeply disturbing to see the reports mounting of similar issues with the Gravity. Lucid needs to get to the bottom of this and NOW.

It's no answer to say, "well, just use this or do that" instead of using the key fob or the key card Lucid provided for the purpose of getting into the car.

That’s interesting as while HERE is not the best in the Lucid it’s not THAT bad. A lot of times if the address is immediately at that street location like a shopping center it won’t show the blue line to turn just the pin of where it’s at, but if it’s an address mid way down a street it should send you down that street.

I agree, but will also reiterate we’ve had no such issues. One trick I found that worked well with the GT whenever I did have issues was just to hit Lock and then Unlock on the fob. But it was rarely necessary.

No such trick on the DE needed so far 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I have very few issues with HERE, but I guess it really depends on where you drive.
