Gravity Delivery Discussion

Yes, because it worked out real well for Lucid with those 35,000 Air reservations didn’t it. Could have had the same argument about the Air having no equal but when you drag your feet, people clearly move on.
Nah, AIR is not as ground breaking when compared to other vehicles in the its class as the Gravity.

It doesn’t look to me like they’re dragging their feet. It’s only 6 weeks later than Winteroff said test drive cars would show up and they’re showing up. In automotive manufacturing terms that’s like a delay of a few minutes haha.

That makes no sense. My GDE entered production over a month ago and still hasn't been completed. I keep checking for software updates and all I get is this, meaning my vehicle hasn't been completed yet. I ordered the very first day, Aurora Green, Stealth, Tahoe, 22/23 which supposedly is one of the most popular builds. I was told early May that my car would be "factory gate" in 2 weeks with delivery within 2 weeks after that. I'm sure your SA is passing along info as did mine, but ultimately that information was nowhere near accurate. I'm in San Diego so I would think delivery would be relatively quick after completion. Has anyone else seen this page updated from the screen below to actually having data. I know of at least a few.View attachment 29461
It’s also depends on geographic location?

Got the call Tuesday, June 3, that the Oakbrook show room got a showroom only gravity available to check out. On Wednesday, June 4, spent an hour checking out the gravity. The showroom gravity is a seven seater, hud and was set to max ground clearance. My order is for the 5 seater so I did not attempt to sit in the third row. I will appreciate having the extra storage space in back to store my dog ladder instead of third row seating. My order excludes hud. The steering wheel can be adjusted in, out, up and down so the lcd screens can be in full view. The rear view mirror seams small. Though I am spoiled by having a large video feed rear view mirror in my Subaru outback where I can see 5 lanes. Video feed rear view mirrors are also unobstructed from dogs that like to sit in the center of the second row seating. Overall the gravity is comfortable to sit in. Large amount of storage space in the center console and glove box. The massage chair feature will be much appreciated on road trips. Even though the June 7th nation wide event is billed as an “air” event, I was hoping/expecting that many more lucid showrooms would have gravitys.
Your order mirrors mine and my SA told me the Chicago studio would be getting a display and soon a demo unit. I’ll make the drive over when the drivable unit arrives.

Historical question for those who have been around and got ADEs - and yes, I am too lazy to search all the threads - did they sell all of those at this relative order stage? That is, I am trying to understand if the ADE could still be ordered 8+/- months after they began offering them? I have a GDE and GGT order and I see it’s still possible to order a GDE though they’re “limited” to 450. I think ADE was 520. Either way. Not a “should you pay premium for GDE” question just a demand vs demand question.

They were still offering ADE’s when the AGT’s were rolling out but unlike the GDE I think they were only offered due to cancellations. This time round, Lucid seems to have struggled to sell the GDE’s quickly.

Can your SA see production status/updates any more than you can on the website? Or can all they see is the in production status?

My recollection: when ADE was about to ship, there was a lot of anticipation on a revolutionary EV (industry-leading range, power, luxury, celebrity subscription, promises of even more to come (e.g., DDPro), etc.). And the economy, as COVID susided, was on the upswing. Now, as GDE is about to launch/ship, many of these parameters have changed. There is a lot of economic headwind. And Lucid has to run on its record!

If Lucid delivers what they promised on the Gravity, it is still an industry-leading vehicle. But at 30%+ higher ASP than the competition, a fast, problem-free ramp of Gravity is not going to be a slam-dunk! 2025 revenue will still be heavily based on the Air.

This was as of yesterday from my SA. And still no software updates are showing in my account.

Although I have limited insight from my end, I can't see the location on it anymore- meaning they must be working on a lot of those finishing touches of ensuring the systems are up and running okay with the rest of the hardware in the car. I wish I had more info, but if I see any firm updates I'll be sure to let you know (:

My SA has been pretty proactive — reaching out to me with incremental updates when he has something new to share. He sent me this update yesterday:

“I wanted to follow up as I’ve received some insight. Lucid has been pending the CARB (California Air Resources Board) New Vehicle Certification for Lucid Gravity Dream Edition, which has been a key factor in delivery timing. The good news is we’ve officially received that certification, and vehicles are now expected to begin shipping from Arizona.

While I still can’t guarantee exact timing, this is a meaningful step forward.”

This is obviously not “new” news to those of us here, but I did appreciate hearing it directly from my SA.

It has been suggested I’ll have “good news” in “a couple days” haha

That said, I have to have it titled within 20 business days now that the loan is funded, so there is a hard deadline now, at least for me.
