Gravity Delivery Discussion

I am amazed at the level of confusion about how many Gravity have been shipped/will be shipped, and whether it is limited by vendor supplied sub-assemblies (e.g., AF-HUD, harness, etc.) or certification, or SW or all of the above. Don't know how much Air inventory is in the warehouse and whether Air is still in strong demand now that Gravity is "immenent". Isn' this the classic "Osborne Effect" that people talked about and studied at Business Schools?

There is this June 8 "Nationwide announcement" coming. Have no idea what it is. Seriously, after the Nov 2024 Gravity supervised test drives, the December picnic, Rawlinson's departure, the April NYC extravaganza, we still don't see much Gravity shipping. Perhaps the Nationwide announcement will clarify that?

Lucid just needs to come clean as to what's happening. The lack of official news is why the stock is hammered!
Actually, they dont have to come clean, which company tells you about every problem they have....not one! Its ludicrous to expect Lucid to come out and spell every issue they are having. I'm sure they are doing their best, even though they dropped the ball with the HUD.

Had to pick up my son in north Houston this morning and we decided to stop by Houston Lucid Studio (my first time visiting there.). Asked about Gravity and they said they had one in back they were prepping to go to Plano Studio for showroom car. Said we could look but not get inside. Great to finally see one in person. Agree that Aurora Green is better in person. Has more grey in it that pics don’t show well. It did have HUD installed.

Said that Houston should get their showroom and test cars in a couple weeks. Nice to see some of these elusive beasts show up in central US and not just on the coasts.

It is kinda hard to believe they are going to be delivery these to customers before the end og the month if they haven't even produced enough showroom cars yet.

I find it interesting that almost all of the show cars are Aurora Green. Lucid must feel this color looks best to prospective buyers. The few videos I’ve seen of it in black looks really good to my eye. I don’t know what color the one at KOP will be Saturday, but I’m guessing it will also be Aurora Green.

The Aurora Green is the launch color

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but aurora green is actually worse in person. You said it yourself, it has more grey in it. It’s a dull color. Grey is dull. It only looks “green” under showroom lights, which isn’t what a color is going to look like in real life, which is 99% of its life outside. It tried to be two different colors (green and grey) at once and accomplishes neither.

It's unfortunate that Lunar Titanium isn't available now.
That was the first color I saw last May when it was at the Tysons Corner studio.
Really looks nice, but I'd still go with the Aurora Green I chose.

Not sure where you got that data. We do not know that they haven’t produced enough showroom cars yet. We only know they haven’t shipped enough yet.

Everyone is indeed entitled to their own opinion. As someone who has driven a Gravity since January, I can guarantee you it looks quite green outside, and not just under showroom lights.

But pictures really don’t it justice.

Like you said though, that’s just my opinion.

Maybe that is what happened. They actually did "nearly" finish building all the showroom cars in March but by "nearly finished" Winterhoff meant that there are a bunch of cars 99% finished waiting on parts...

The Scottsdale, AZ showroom has a Gravity since about 6/1/25. My son saw it at the mall and had quite a crowd around it. I will go to Fashion Square soon to have a look and see if they are offering test drives. That's where I ordered my Lucid Air GT in 2021...

None in San Diego yet.
Admittedly he did say they would be in all studios.
“nearly finished building all the vehicles that we wanted to build to put them into our studio and for test drives. And by the end of April, we will resume customer deliveries of the Gravity.”

Some were delivered in April. I know of a Gravity Dream Edition delivered in Arizona in April. But in the long run, this is not going to matter. I would rather Lucid get it "right" than get it "done" in an arbitrary timeline.

My wife and I visited yesterday around 2:30 PM, and the showroom was quiet with no crowds, giving us plenty of time to explore the vehicle. Test drives were not available, and the vehicle was in "showroom" mode, with some features disabled, including rear-wheel steering and the frunk opening controls. The salesperson used her phone app to open the frunk. She also mentioned that the heads-up display (HUD) was disabled and expressed disappointment that there wasn’t a way to demonstrate it.

There’s not much else to add, as most details have already been discussed in the forum. I experimented with stowing the center seats, which was easy—just a button press in the back to lower them. However, raising the seats was challenging. I couldn’t find a button upfront or in the center to initiate the process, making it inconvenient to access the controls at the rear. To raise the seat, I pressed a release button in the back to move the front seat forward, assuming this would enable the seat to be unstowed. After the front seat moved, I had to wrestle the seatback upright. While doing so, I cut my finger on some exposed metal near the seat bottom—my fault for placing my hand there. Once I pulled the seat cushion from the front, it returned to its upright position.

Any possibility of removing half of the 2nd row on our own?
I did that for our Honda minivan to improve access to the third row.

Well I understand what you are saying, but it is possible to parse this too finely (personally, I think Occam's razor applies here).

This is from a manager at one of the Lucid stores. They were very excited about getting a showroom car. Not a test drive car--a showroom car. Look I think the Gravity may be the best EV on the market at launch, but let's be honest they are having trouble getting it out the door. It doesn't make sense that they would be able to delivery significant numbers of Gravities to customers in the next few seeks when they can't even delivery showroom and test drive vehicles to their (admittedly small) dealer network. I'm not being critical here, just realistic. FWIW, judging by my experience with my AGT purchase process, and it takes a loooong time for a car company to become excellent at production. Look at Tesla's teething pains.

Just to think about scale, per Lucid’s website, they have 43 studios in the US. So when they talk about making enough (or say they made enough) for these studios, they’re talking about making less than 50 Gravity - just for studio, not for test drives. I think they’ve been trying to do this and deliver them for 4-5 months…not a lot of scale.

Regardless, they’ll come when they come and I hope they get it right when they do start producing them in a meaningful way.

Even if they gave 2 per studio, one for show and one for test drives the fact they haven’t been able to get 86 cars into its stores over the last 6 months is quite concerning.
