Gravity Delivery Discussion

Yeah I think Natick in Massachusetts is getting theirs next week.
My Natick SA just confirmed that they have their studio Gravity and it will be available to see "next week". Also still aiming for deliveries "end of month" (for whatever that is worth).

Did you have to actively poke your SA to get the information or they proactively reached out?

My SA has been radio silence since Nov, with only update that they changed my SA from one to another.

I send him a text every week or two and he's very responsive.

I was sending text/E-mail every week for three weeks, asking for a configuration change, got no response.
Called one day, promised a call back "in a few minutes" but nothing received for hours. Called again 10 minutes before their closing time, asked for another SA and finally got connected.

Never tried to contact Lucid again given the bad experience.

Saw similar reports for the SA serving our area, I guess Lucid just doesn't care us in the region very much.

I’m getting an invalid address message.

Try on your phone, might be getting blocked by whatever system you are using, it’s a good link, can also try searching manually for it

I got a call yesterday from my SA telling me that they had a car just like mine (cough) due to people canceling their orders. Then he listed the differences:
  • Tahoe interior instead of Yosemite
    • (the popular option, but for me, not interested)
  • 21" or 22" wheels instead of 20"
    • (not interested)
  • No tech package
    • (yes, we know about this, not interested and I've already confirmed that point with him a month ago)
  • No power package
    • (not the part of Tech pkg that I was wanting anyway, so not an issue for me)
I feel like there was one other difference, but I don't remember it off-hand. The call woke me up during my Sunday morning beauty sleep.

At this point I'm thinking of potentially "canceling" my order to put it on hold(1), not because I don't want it, but because I have no urgent time frame and don't want to be hounded about getting one ASAP. I'm willing to wait until late 2025-early 2026 to pull the trigger. The main things I'm waiting on:
  • No urgency as I have a different "new toy" car to play with for the next few months (that I got due to my deadline that the Gravity missed)
  • I want to do a real test drive, not the "around the block ride holding the steering wheel" that they provided me (can haz Skyline test drive?)
  • I want to see Ojai in person to see if maybe I want to switch to it
  • I wouldn't mind seeing Lunar Titanium in person again
I don't doubt that this will be my "forever car(2)" at some point, but I don't have a lot of urgency any more.

(1 - if I can as it was turned into a DE for about a month before they missed my deadlines and I turned it back into a GT)
(2 - "forever" is about 7-10 years for me)

Thanks but I'm new to the forum, can you post a link to the video or explain how to get to the FB group?
There are many Lucid, Air and Gravity FB groups. None of them are affiliated with this forum. In my experience they tend to collect cranks and stock touts. Not generally useful unless you are the type who enjoys conspiracy-theorist media.

Was the car actually built or was this a “pre vin” call? I got the same call but car actually matched what I wanted exactly, but it was a pre vin assignment. Sort of meaningless, best I can tell.

I run 5 groups and I keep them clean. I make a group for every vehicle I own or plan to get and then just maintain after I move on.

You can find them all under the Got Boost branding. Example attached.

At this point we have at least 2 Lucid employees and 2 Gravity owners in the group (a dream and a GT).

If you haven’t seen a properly run group, feel free to visit.

Hard to say. The options were missing so it had to be in some stage of production, but I didn't inquire further as it didn't meet my needs.

I got contacted about the same build. In this case they confirmed that the vehicle is built and there is an actual VIN but that delivery wouldn’t be for a month or two because of logistics.

To say “My EQS has ARHUD” and imply that this is old tech and easy to implement on any new car is like saying “Tesla FSD has been out for some time, it should be easy for other manufactures to implement on their new cars.” Another comparison is Mercedes was I believe first manufacturer to implement adaptive cruise control. It took many years for other companies to catch up and implement their versions of it on their cars.

Lucid probably saw the Mercedes ARHUD (maybe while in development) and decided “that’s cool, let’s develop something like that but maybe a little different/better.” But as is the case with new tech, sometimes this process is a little harder than you anticipated.
I said my EQS has ARHUD only to reply to the previous post, indicating the delay is because no one has tried AR and HUD together. It has been done by many, just not by Lucid.

And it is not an old tech. It is new even for MB. Legacy manufacturers are typically not known for their software development skills, but they did it anyway. I assume Lucid is more capable of software integration in this case.

Look, I want Lucid to succeed. My concern is that while we are discussing all the details in a relatively civil and patient manner here, many new potential customers in the real world will not be as understanding, and they will move on to a different brand if the delays continue and the communication is not improving.

Ha! I just talked to them and heard the same thing. He felt they would be getting a bunch by the end of the month. Talking to both my SA and the manager there, I get the impression that it is hard to get good info out of the production team. My SA has been outstanding--are you dealing with John C.?

I do not have a FB account so I cannot access your video. Can you make public so it can be accessed without an account? if not, thanks anyway.

Yes, I'm also working with John -- he seems to be the primary guy at both the Natick and Seaport locations? He texted me a few pics of the Gravity they just got in and were preparing for the floor. Aurora Green with Yosemite interior.

Except for the one that is owners only and is set to private ;)

Spoke to my Lucid SA today as well. They have a few GGTs that are ready to be assigned. The DEs are still constrained. Some of the studios are getting showroom cars and demo cars later. The SA did hint they might have demo Gravity within a month.

I had a similar experience with my SA. I called and got a new one assigned. Called them a week later, largely as a test, and they actually answered the phone and followed up on my questions. The previous SA was 0 for 3.

You aren’t missing much, the video shows that the HUR has basic functionality and the top screen does an excellent job showing where to go.
