I'm curious how long people think it will take for Lucid to produce all Gravity Dream Editions. (Phrased another way, what's the longest a Dream Edition customer might have to wait for delivery?) I had sort of hoped that I'd get mine delivered by the end of June, but I'm extremely skeptical of that at this point.

Sorry for the unscientific poll options. I didn't put a May option because I think that's self-evidently not possible.

Assuming they sell all 450, it ain’t happening this year, not in my book.

My SA continues to claim "end of June," which seems bold but not completely implausible since we've seen that they are actually being built.

They have to build them first. Assuming that all 450 were sold (they aren't) that's 75/week or 10/day for the next six weeks. We've seen pictures of the KSA and demo inventory that suggests that's not an absurd rate to imagine now. Next they have to get them to customers. Since they already are shipping 100s of cars per week, this is the easy part -- they have the capacity. It would also be nice of the service staff were trained up on the new vehicle before they have to start fixing them...

Bottom line, I think it entirely depends on the mystery supply chain concerns around the voltage boost circuitry, and then any HW/SW issues blocking release. Given that there's at least two satisfied customers on this forum, I'm assuming there are no critical blockers. From the data we have it's not impossible to deliver all (or maybe black and green) ordered DEs by end of June, but they're going to have to start picking up the pace ASAP.

Looking forward to more flyover photos of the export lot.

And, if the Dream Edition remains undersubscribed as some have reported, as Cowboy Andy said, "to infinity and beyond!"

Given that it's already been over six months since Gravity orders opened and even now there only seems to be a slow drip of deliveries, this could go on for quite a while. Probably much longer than most of us assumed when Lucid said they were going to skip reservations and go straight to orders nearer to delivery starts to reduce wait times experienced by customers.

Those of us who ordered on Day One and still haven't received VINs are probably going to see a minimum of an 8-month wait.

We saw a Gravity prototype at the Miami Worldcenter studio on March 19, 2024. A sales person told me they had a Gravity in their service shop being torn down as part of training for the service team.

Of course, by now they might be needing some refresher training.

These were Dream Nos. 003 and 004 according to the two owners who posted here about them. If these are being delivered sequentially, there's a 001 and a 002 out there somewhere.

One owner is confirmed, the second is not, as no photos were posted.

I try to do some vetting as it is the internet after all.

You can go and order a DE on the website right now. I think that's a pretty clear indication they have not all been sold.

I don't think that really says much about demand. It's a big ask to commit to a $140k vehicle that you haven't driven and that doesn't yet have full trade reviews published. How long did it take to sell out the Air DEs?

I never saw any confirmation that Lucid ever sold all 520 Air Dreams. When they later released it in Europe it was never clear whether those cars were in the count.

But the Air Dream was a different kettle of fish. It cost $30,000 more than a Gravity Dream. It was in one of the smallest market niches -- a luxury EV sedan. Lucid had no track record as an auto manufacturer or even really as an engineering house outside of Atieva, and Dream reservations were being taken even before the first independent test drives of Air prototypes were being reported.

The Gravity is in a much larger market segment. It is less expensive with more feature content. The price gap between a Gravity Dream and a GT is half that between an Air Dream and an Air GT. It follows a debut product that won major automotive awards around the world. The Gravity was getting strong test drive reviews before the Dream version was announced. Lucid is now recognized as an EV technology leader. It has a wider sales and service network.

Perhaps the pool of SUV buyers just has fewer early-adopter performance enthusiasts in it?

Or... unlike those of us who have received VINs (and are wallowing in the ensuing information blackout), you'll receive your VIN and your car will be delivered within weeks of that. It's all a fun mystery at this point 🙃

I'm not sure that a photo of a car in a showroom is actual confirmation that an owner took the photo. Nor am I sure that looking at a photo on a forum is "vetting" a source.

In any case, I see no reason to doubt the two forum members who said they took delivery in Scottsdale.

The above posted photo is from an actual owner who confirmed a second delivery happened same day.

Yes. That second delivery was No. 003 that I mentioned in my earlier post that you said was not confirmed.

They did. They weren’t. 520 in each.

True, but remember: I ordered a GT September 2021 and upgraded to a DE October 2021. So it’s not like the Air DEs had been “well sold out” prior, as my delivery was January 2022.

Not all that different.

That’s my guess. Every SUV person I talk to is like “cool, but why do I need 1000HP for the thing that drives my kids to school?” Which is entirely fair, lol.

You cannot go on the website and order a DE directly. It's not shown to the general public. If you're seeing it on your webpage, you are logged in.

His point was that because he can, it’s a safe assumption they aren’t sold out yet.
