Android Auto Thursday

So sometime this winter some OTA is causing my carlinkit to not connect properly. My phone still connects to it, I can see Android Auto is active on my Pixel 7. But Lucid doesn't recognize it until I replug it multiple times. Anyone else going through the same?
Okay, I want to report I have found a solution for the issue after a lot of testing.

First off LUCID customer service told me many owners are reporting this bug, the car continuously looks like it's kicking the TBOX off the connection, then back on. As you see it disappear and show up multiple times after plugging it in. If it doesn't connect what yly can do is, go to "connectivity" and the devices menu where you can see the Bluetooth connections.

There you will see 2 icons next to your phone, one that looks like a phone, and one that looks like musical note 🎶. I will click on the musical note to deselect it from my phone, and then it gives the TBOX an opportunity to pick it up.

Usually it just takes 1 try. It met take 2 tries. But eventually it forces it to connect. Temporary workaround

I just saw read this and thought I would share:

Thanks! I read this as Sept. 2025 for Gravity and hopes for Air. Urghh!!

Here is the exact quote:

"I had a chance to speak with Jean-Philippe (JP) Gauthier, vice-president of Lucid's digital experience on the matter and, trust me, he and his team are just as annoyed as us by the lack of Android Auto in his cars. First thing's first, he assured that the Lucid Gravity should receive an update to integrate it sometime in September of this year. However, for Air, it's still unclear when the projection service will be integrated, but Gauthier would like to see it arrive around the same time."

Maybe if they didn't wait for 2 1/2 years after Air launch to submit AA for cert this wouldn't be such an issue...lack of priority.

Well, if we have to wait another 7 months for AA can I have ANY update in the interim? It's been 155 days since we've had a meaningful update. I get they now need to support the Gravity software as well but it would be nice to have some communication for Air owners when there's an innovation pause like this.

I can guarantee you that Lucid did not wait 2-1/2 years to submit to Google. I understand the frustration and wish it would be released but it is not that Lucid has been waiting to submit.

I don't want to start the communicate/ over communicate discussion but giving a specific timeline for a car that we aren't really even sure will be delivered (I know they said April but that could be like another 9 gravity) for a feature that still hasn't made it to the flagship vehicle sounds awfully suspect. Is the source and author credible?

Another 5 months or more for AA! This is ridiculous...if it's Google who is holding up can I as a consumer of Google products not email or message someone at Google to hurry up and express concern at the timeline? This is insane...

Ah Lucid, if this article is in fact true why on earth could you not have sent a communication to owners vs them having to find out by an "Exclusive" media article. If September is indeed the case then it would be around a year overdue from when Lucid initially planned to release. The way I read that article is that Lucid isn't big enough for Google to really give a damn so they're forced to wait.

Based on that article, the message seems that it is both Google and lucid not being able to agree to terms. At this rate lucid should stop promising that Android auto is coming. Spend the time effort and money on just further air improvements so that we don't care to rely on AA.

Changing the native map from Here to Google Maps would be a big way to stop a lot complaints about not having AA.

Here maps is *fine* for me on the surface, yes sometimes it navigates to a plaza entrance instead of the address itself but I can get past that. The thing that sucks is living in an area with a lot of toll roads and not having the option to toggle tolls on and off. Makes it unusable in certain situations.

That's not a Here maps Issue, that's a Lucid issue. Here maps certainly has the ability to detect and route to use or not use toll roads.
