Backup Camera battle with Garage Door Opener

So, for $10 I bought 2 garage door openers, including batteries, from Amazon. A few minutes to program the remote now I'm good to go. Nothing to get covered and no geofence parameters to worry about. I determine when the door opens and closes.
I did exactly the same thing. Going old school is much more convenient.

I read that Rivian pops up on the screen (geo-fencing) and pressing the button on the steering wheel activates the garage door.
The software in the Air does something similar. I have openers at multiple locations programmed. The opener at the vehicles location will be the one presented … when the camera view isn’t blocking it from view. ;) We still have to take our hands off the steering wheel though, but that doesn’t seem like a significant issue in my opinion.

Sure, but one can argue that if your car happened to be parked outside, shattering your cars side window can also get the thief into your garage and possibly your home too if the garage is attached?

Good point, I hadn't considered that!

Unfortunately Liftmaster MyQ has blocked all integrations. I could do the same before they cut it off. I don’t want to change or add new HW, hopefully Lucid will sort out the UI soon.
Yeah MyQ caused a lot of trouble. I highly recommend considering installing one of the other options. None of them take more than 5 minutes to install and set up.
